I didn't realize it had gone through as a submission my bad đ
Inquisition LIs reaction to hearing their Inquisitor through a door saying things like "you are the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, you are a gift from the Maker, I love you, I'd die for you, etc.", thinking they're with someone else and running in, just to find out the Inq. is talking to a baby nug/Mabari pup they snuck into Skyhold?
âRomanced Companions reacting to Secret Baby Nug/Mabari Pupâ
Here you go and thank you again, @queer-edmundpevensie for the ask! Also, more jokes!
When the Inquisitor asked Bull if he had a spare plug they could use, he said âSorry, I donât have any Chargers.â (Maybe a little sorry)
-Lord Lex
Cullen
âI- Honestly, I canât even blame you for your choice of words. He is handsome.â
-Was split between being upset and feeling remorse. If indeed you had found someone else, you would most definitely deserve someone better than him but you could have at least told him. Pleasantly surprised to find the nug/mabari. Maker forbid if itâs a mabari because he will dote on that thing, saying how your âtrue loveâ is a very good boy.
Josephine
âLove, who are you talking to-? Oh! Arenât they just the sweetest!â
-Didnât doubt you for a second. She knows that if there was something wrong with you two, youâd tell her. Also, your wording was a little strange for if you were talking to someone else. Suggests on getting it a collar. You actually might be the jealous one when you find her cuddling it more than you.
Solas
â...â
-What was he expecting? Not this. But he has full fate in you to know you wouldnât go behind his back if your feelings had changed. Honestly a little jealous of the mabari/nug. Itâs actually kinda cute- wait, how did you even get it into Skyhold? Oh well. Heâll also tell you about how, in old tales, different animals used to run through Skyhold so having it here just makes sense.
If they go missing, itâs because they started following Solas around. No, he doesnât know why.
Cassandra
âInquisitor, I-!...How did you manage to get that here?â
-Yes, she was a little irked that you might be with someone behind her back. And yes, she does feel horrible that sheâd assume the worst. Sheâll admit what she was thinking was going on and apologize. Cassandra, to most peopleâs surprise, is a big softie when it comes to animals so her confusion and irritation is put on hold when your chosen creature looks at her with them big olâ eyes.
The Iron Bull
âWell, Varric owes me money.â
-He knew from the beginning that you snuck it in. But hearing you talk in such a way to it did make him pause. If you two are only fooling around right now, he doesnât mind and doesnât care who you sleep with. Now, if youâre his kadan, might be a different story. But, again, he knew you had the creature somewhere and that certainly sounds like how youâd baby an animal. Lo and behold, he was right and Varric has less pocket gold. Also, if you donât stop him, heâll carry the animal around like a baby.
Dorian
âDearest. Amatus. Love of my life. My chosen partnerâŠ.What the fuck.â
-One of the only people who puts up with your shit anymore. Heâll be one of the people who is severely split. Yes, you deserve better than him, knowing his history and how he can act sometimes. But also how dare you go behind his back when he has given you his heart? He has to pause to let his heart settle after walking in on you cuddling the thing before he very irritable tells you to watch your wording.
Sera
âAlright, what the fuck! Who are you talking-? Wait, thatâs not a person.â
-Fully thought it was someone else and wanted to rain hell on them. So it was a little shocking to see your door kicked open and Sera holding a jar of bees at the ready. If you choose a mabari over a nug, sheâll put the bees away and start petting it, acting like nothing happened. Now, if you choose a nug, sheâll make a disgusted face and back away. Not very fond of nugs, but fond of you.
Blackwall
âIâm gonna admit it, I thought there was someone else in here. Glad to see I was both wrong and right.â
-Same boat as Cullen, he kinda expected you to find someone else by now. Hurt his feelings a bit to know that you might have a secret admirer other than him. Does not find it funny (ok, maybe a little) if you name the beast after him. Itâs even more funny to see him try to watch his step around it, especially a nug, as he would not like to step on the creature that has your affection.

Weekly Batman/DC Fic Recs (1)
This week I've read two delightful character studies, one focused on Barbara Gordon and the other on Jason Todd. There's also a hilarious SI/OC fic from the perspective of Tim Drake and two fantastic fics where Lonnie Machin/Anarky plays a major role. Apart from that, two delicious smutty fics got an update: Bruce/Dick/Jason college au and Slade/Jason western au. We also have an amazing DCU, MCU and X-Men crossover oneshot! Hope you enjoy the recs <3
Delta T by Havendance In one universe, mere seconds stop Barbara Gordon from sniping Black Mask. In another, she takes the shot.
G | No Archive Warnings Apply | Batman (Comics) | Helena Bertinelli & Barbara Gordon
this city is the place to be by Jezebunny Gotham city is going to be destroyed in twelve hours.
Jason doesn't see any point in stopping it.
What does he owe anybody, anyway?
T | No Archive Warnings Apply | Batman - All Media Types | Jason Todd & Bruce Wayne
Domestication Protocols for Nocturnal Fauna by rozaceous, vermillion_crown Itâs been years since Tim's thought about the secret identities of Gothamâs winged wonders. A chance encounter while searching for college roommates that wonât burn the place down gives Tim a lead and the hope of new accommodations. The only thing he has to do is pretend that he doesnât know anything.
Easy.

The Assassination of President Luthor by the Radical Lonnie Machin by NiteWrighter "Hi. Iâm Lonnie. So I guess I should start out by saying, I donât believe violence is a sustainable tool. Itâs not. Itâs a reflection of our ugliest, most base instincts. But it is the current language of the state, so I apologize for bringing my voice to the conversation."
President Luthor has been brutally killed by a magical weapon, and Anarky has claimed responsibility. The Justice League is struggling with the ensuing fallout, instability, suspicion, and speculation, while a power vacuum opens up in the world of the Rogues. What does a world without Lex Luthor look like? Is he truly gone? Has a greater chain reaction been kicked off by this single death?

The Half-Life of Sixty Seconds by sunnymusings "The problem with thinking like a detective is not actually that thinking like one is too strict or structured. Thereâs organization on a document, but Timâs mind is not a bullet journal. Itâs not a legal form, itâs not a spreadsheet, itâs not a ledger.
Itâs messy and human and creative. Loose, unstructured, instinctual. Detectives arenât good at solving cases because they work like machines; itâs much the opposite. Itâs that creative mess which aids in seeing between the structure of presented facts, reading the code, and then cracking it. Itâs like tracing a spider web back to its center. Thereâs an observable track leading exactly where one needs to goâ a veritable method to the madnessâ but itâs still art, all the same, even to the broom that ruins it.
So, when Tim is presented with a countdown, itâs not just a mechanical, factual understanding of time that pushes hard against the inside of his ribs; itâs a too-clear visual of a digital clock-face, neutral and unyielding, counting down from sixty in his neocortex. Artistic and messy and emotional.
There is only one place to go once one is caught in the web."

Nothing to Nobody by Jae_Cillian The kidâJasonâstared at Slade with wide, alert eyes. Big and round like a doeâstartled in its grazing, frozen in the sights of a predator. He leaned forward, one hand still gripping the pistol but the other anchoring his weight against the floor as if to stand and chase after Slade. But with Sladeâs eye on him, Jason didnât dare move an inch. All tense lines and silent shudders of breath that Slade could see quake along the kidâs ribs, Jason reminded Slade of a stray dog. Snarling and snapping its canines when he got too close, but whimpering and whining when he walked away.
Slade wondered how long itâd take to tame the kid; and, thereupon, realized he might enjoy the challenge of it.

can you do 48. âstop videotaping me this isnât funnyâ and 53. âyeah i like you dipshitâ with turcs
âdriving to practiceâ
alex turcotte x reader
you and alex have been friends since he arrived at your high school last year, and youâve both grown immensely close to one another. heâs one of your best friends, and heâs almost always over at your house or youâre at his. people always assume you two are dating, but secretly you wish you were. no one knows alex the way you do, but youâd never tell him about your feelings.
you and alex always study together after school for an hour or two before he has hockey practice, and he makes you drive him to practice and back. since heâs staying with a billet family, he doesnât have his own car so he uses you as a ïżŒchauffeur. âhey y/n/n, we gotta get going soon. are you almost done studying?â alex asks you, as he shuts his textbook and sits up on your bed, stretching out his limbs.
âyep! you have all your gear right?â you ask, grabbing your car keys from your desk. alex nods and gets his backpack and hockey bag from the door. you two get into your car and of course alex claims aux, just to play rap songs the whole way there.
as youâre pulling into the parking lot, you see a dead squirrel on the side of the street, making you gasp. âoh my god lex! thereâs a dead squirrel, iâm so sad!â you exclaim, feeling a sadness overtake you. youâve always had a major soft spot for animals, but youâre also a very overemotional person when youâre on your period.
âokay? what are you gonna do, go give it cpr?â alex jokes, unbuckling his seatbelt as you park the car.
âalex stop! donât be mean, that poor squirrel died for no reason, what if he had a family to feed!â you say, now feeling your eyes water. alex letâs out a loud laugh, before grabbing his phone to take a video of you. âare you crying?! y/n dont cry itâs just a squirrel!â alex chuckles, recording you for his private story on snapchat.
you flip off the camera and turn away from alex, âalex stop videotaping me, this isnât funny!â you groan.
âokay okay sorry, but iâm posting that on my private story,â he laughs, making you groan once again.
âalex that was mean, now youâre making fun of me and the squirrel!â you argue.
âokay okay, iâm sorry! i apologize to you and the dead squirrel. but i think itâs cute how you have such a soft spot for animals,â alex smiles, making you blush. immediately alex realizes he just called you cute, and starts to blush from embarrassment. suddenly you both get a little quiet, and before you even realize it, your words slip.
âalex, what did you mean by saying that?â you ask, immediately shocked you just asked that.
âi like you, y/n,â alex states nervously, making you smile. âyou do?â you ask, double checking heâs not joking.
âyeah, i have for awhile now actually. but i totally understand if you donât-â alex begins, but you immediately cut him off.
âi like you too, dipshit,â you smile, making alex let out a sigh of relief.
âgood, now before i go inside for practice, you have a little makeup under your eye.â he says, leaning over the center console. as he wipes the mascara from under your eye, suddenly he presses a quick kiss against your lips.
âwhoops, my hand slipped,â he smirks, before getting out of the car with his bags, leaving you wanting a longer kiss.
âiâll be back here at 8:30, per usual. and you, mister turcotte, owe me a longer kiss.â you say, pointing a finger at him.
âi owe you one?â he asks.
âitâs your form of payment since i drive you everywhere,â you shrug, and alex nods.
âalright then, that doesnât sound too bad,â he smiles, before shutting the car door and walking off, leaving you a flustered mess.

Savage Sunset Chapter 14S
In this chapter: Valen finally gets to EAT
Story masterpost
Complementary chapter
Content/Content warnings for this chapter:Â Aftermath of torture, starvation, heavy emotional distress. This chapter could probably also be considered "carewhumping," although I think everyone's actions are completely reasonable.
Valenâs boots clattered on the kitchen floor as Lex helped him step up and back into the kitchen. Ari shut and locked the back door, then walked over to the kitchen window to shut the curtains as the sky started to streak pink with the sunrise.
"Okay," said Ari, giving a tentative thumbs up. "We're good? We're cool?"
Lex returned her thumbs up. Valen let out a choked sob, but also gave a thumbs-up, the weakest and least convincing thumbs up in history.
"It's all right," said Lex. "Things are going to get better for you now. We're going to help you. Things are only going to get better. Ari.â
She took Valenâs wrist and drew him forward. âLet me introduce you to Valen. He was here in human territory becauseâŠhe was gatheringâŠmushrooms?â She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye for any sign that her statement was incorrect. When he gave none, she continued, âThat he was using to try and make artificial blood.â
âMushrooms are more closely related to animals than to plants,â Valen mumbled, eyes glued to the floor.
âAh, rightâŠâ said Ari. She rubbed the back of her head. âWell, IâŠWell, if thatâs true⊠I meanâŠIâm glad you werenât here for anything nefarious.â Lex could tell Ari still did not quite believe it, but she could see what obvious in front of her: This creature was a person, not a monster, despite the blood painting him and the fangs, who just wanted to be safe, and who was capable of carrying out a conversation if treated fairly. Ari was protective, but she was also clearly thinking that she didnât want to hurt this poor guy any further, and they might be able to work it out safely.
And when theyâd set up Lex and Valen in the backyard, the message from Ari had been clear: I trust your judgment. If you say heâs fine, Iâll believe heâs fine.
Lex could see Ari struggling to think up what to say now that theyâd actually reached that point, though. Lex herself was struggling to contain a slew of curious questions for her strange new friend, wanting to hear everything about who he was and how heâd gotten to this point, but there would be time for that later. Â
âI-Iâm sorry I locked you in a cage,â Valen blurted out.
âHgn?â Ari gave him a befuddled look. Lex knew what she was thinking: I would have done the same thing. That was completely reasonable. âI meanâŠâ said Ari, averting her eyes. âThat was just kind of fair play. Yâknow.â She cleared her throat. âWell, IâGiven what all happened, I would sayâŠâ
Just apologize, Ari, Lex thought, bemused. It wonât kill you. Youâre still plenty macho.Â
âWell, listen, dude, IâŠÂ Sorry aboutâŠall that.â She looked ashamed. âI owe you one, soâso if thereâs anything you need, you just let me know.â Â
Lex took a moment to look Valen up and down and take stock of what they actually had in their kitchen.
Okay, they had a vampire. A person.  Who wanted to be a good person, and who hadnât committed any crimes. Except for biting them, which Lex thought wasnât really his fault. It was their fault. Okay. So this was sort of their responsibility. He was starved and weakened, very very scared, in clothes that were several sizes too big for his skeletal frame, beat to shit and back with open wounds all over his body, very tired by the look of it, and covered in dried, tacky blood, down his chin and up to his sunken cheekbones, down his front, half of it months old and rotting. One of his eyes was a charred, shriveled lump nestled among a burn across his face, he had cuts all up and down his limbs, burns in the shape of the muzzle, burns on his wrists, and probably plenty of broken bones they couldnât see.
What would be the best thing to do?
âLetâs get you taken care of. What would you like to do first?â said Lex. Being in the enclosed space with him again drove home how bad he truly smelled, so a bath would probably be a good first step, then they could clean his wounds. âWe can get you cleaned upââ
âF-feed,â he said instantly. âPl-please allow me to feed. Iâm soâso, Iâm so hungry, please.â He shrank back instantly after the outburst, as if afraid of being reprimanded.
Oh, of course. Lex should have guessed thatâd be what he wanted first. Luckily, when theyâd been at the hospital, theyâd convinced the hospital staff to let them have some donated blood from their stock, which theyâd stowed in the fridge. All theyâd needed to do was prove they were vampire hunters, and make up some excuse about how they were trying to set up a trap for a vampire and needed bait, and theyâd been given as much as they wanted.
âEager, huh,â said Ari, turning back to the fridge. She emerged with one of the bags of blood. âWell, itâs your lucky day, becauseâŠhello?â
Valen was frozen, knees quaking, as though he were deathly afraid asking had been a mistake, eyes glazed over.
âHello?â said Ari, waving her hand in his face. âEarth to Dracula.â
His eyes snapped to her hand, then fell onto the blood.
âLike I was trying to say,â said Ari with a grin. âTodayâs your lucky day, my man, cuz it turns out if youâre at a hospital to get stitches, all you need to do is flirt with the nurse a little bit, and tell her youâre vampire hunters, and fudge the explanation for what youâre going to use it for a little bit, and theyâll just give you some blood.â
âG-give it to me!â Valen snapped with uncharacteristic savageness, mouth screwing into a snarl. He immediately drew back, hand over his mouth, fearful expression returning.Â
âHold on a second,â said Ari, drawing it back, and again Lex and Ari were in perfect synch with their thoughts.
Lex put a hand to his back. âDidnât you throw upâŠbefore?â Sheâd been phasing in and out of consciousness, but she remembered a few things, which sheâd recalled to Ari: heâd thrown up, and heâd gotten off a phone call to someone. They'd have to ask about that second part later.
âSo how much of this do you think your stomach can handle?â said Ari. âDecide beforehand, so you donât get carried away.â
âFor a human who was breaking a fast, we would probably give them crackers or something,â said Lex. âSomething light, so they donât get sick. You know?â
âDo you want just a little bit, and we can wait a bit to give you more?â said Ari. âOr, maybe, I donât know, we can thin it out with water or something?â
He looked like theyâd just asked him to do quadratic equations in his head. His face was frozen in indecision, then: âIfâŠif you dilute it with waterâŠM-maybe half of that would be a good start. Thank you.â
Ari smiled. âThere we go. Letâs give it a try.â
She turned and put the bag on the sink. Lex fetched her a drinking glass, then came back over to help Valen stand.
Ari lowered the bag into the sink to contain any spills, then cut it open with a pair of scissors.
The second the bag was open, something slammed into both of them from behind, claws and teeth thrashing violently, growling ripping through the air.
âShit!â said Ari, regaining her balance. âFuck!â
âStop!â said Lex. âValen, stop!â
His face twisted in anger, then dissolved into horror. Ari swept his leg and jammed him into an arm bar against the counter.
âEasy, easy!â
âWoah, woahââ
âStop, stopââ
âIâve got him.â
âWeâve got you.â
âIâm sorry!â he sobbed instantly. âIâm sorry! Iâm sorry! IâI didnât mean toâI didnât mean to!â
He shifted under Ariâs weight, and Ari grabbed a handful of hair, pressing him down into the counter. He writhed, eyes locked on the blood now splashed in the sink, but Ari pulled him back.
âPlease,â he wept. âPlease just let me lick the sink, Iâll do anything, Iâm sorry, Iâm so sorry, pleaseâplease have mercy, please just let meââ
âEasy,â said Ariâs voice, and the legs behind him pressed into him even further, stifling his squirming. âEasy. Take it easy. Breathe. Sit still.â
It was the smell, they could both tell. The smell was making it impossible for him to control himself. He was that desperately hungry. Especially with him pinned to the counter right next to the sink. They needed to do something to bring him back down, so they could talk again. They wanted to feed him, but it was dangerous for all of them if he couldnât control himself.
âLex, turn the water on.â If the lingering blood was gone, maybe he could think more clearly.
âNo,â Valen cried. âPlease, please, please just let meââ
Lex started to get concerned at his desperation. Was he going to use persuasion again? He must know that wouldn't end well, right? The sun was up. He couldn't pull a repeat of what he'd done earlier. Please just trust us.
Lex turned on the faucet, rinsing the bag and sending the remaining blood down the drain. He tried to chase it, prompting Ari to pin his remaining wrist to the counter.
âThis isnât going to work if you canât control yourself,â said Ari. âWeâre trusting you to behave in a civilized way.â
âIâm sorry,â Valen said pathetically. âIâIâIâI didnât mean to, I-I-I couldnât control myself.â
âAll right. Just stay still. Lex, are you hurt?â
âNo, are you?â
âNo.â
Lex let out a shaky breath, then rubbed his back soothingly. âItâs okay. See? You didnât hurt us. Weâre okay. Youâre okay.â
âIâmâIâmâIâm sorry.â
Lex felt her heart breaking again. He clearly wanted so badly to behave himself, but his eyes were wide with such desperate hunger. âItâs all right. Donât worry. Weâre going to help you.â
Lex took stock again, with fresh eyes, of what they had in their kitchen. A person. A vampire. A desperate, starving, dangerous wounded animal. Of their own creation. Who would hurt them despite his own best intentions. They had to pull him back up out of the deep pit heâd been thrown into. They had to grab his hand and haul him back up out of the muck, they had to put on gloves and armor to stop the panicked kicking and screaming and clawing as they did so, because he was starved and half-feral and had no way to help himself besides lashing out at things he thought would hurt him. He could do nothing but lunge desperately, and he had no reason to believe anything would get better unless he was the one who made it happen.
They had to help him, and they had to take precautions to make sure all three of them stayed alive while that happened. He needed to be restrained, even if he didnât want it, if he couldnât stop himself from lunging.
âWeâre going to help you,â said Ari. âBut weâre going to do it in a way that doesnât put me and Lex at risk. Understand?â
âYes, I understand, I understand, sirâm-maâam.â
Ah, there it was, the dreaded sir-maâam that Ari was subjected to so often. She smiled wryly, then leaned over. âBecause Lex lost a lot of blood, and if she loses more, or reopens her stitches, you could hurt her really badly.â
âIâI know, Iâm sorry, I d-didnât mean toââ
âWe know youâre hungry,â said Lex, âand we know youâre scared, and in pain, and we know people do things they wouldnât otherwise do when theyâre scared and in pain and hungry.â
Valen sobbed.
âBut that doesnât change the fact that you can hurt us even if you donât mean to,â said Ari. âThis might have been too big of a leap. Weâll do baby steps.â
âTh-thank you,â said Valen, body wracked with tremors. âThank you, maâam, thank you.â
âLex, go get the muzzle.â
âNo!â Valen cried, and Lex had to fight to keep herself together at his expression, his squirming. âPlease, please, no! Please donât put the muzzle back on! Please, please, Iâll do anything, anything, Iâm begging youââ
âRelax,â said Ari. âHey, relax. Weâre not going to use the bit. Youâll still be able to talk. Itâll just be a barrier between you and lunging at us again. We know you didnât do it on purpose, but we still need to prevent it from happening again.â
âBut, Ari,â said Lex, dismayed, âthe muzzle we have burns him.â
âGo get some duct tape too.â
Good old Ari. She always knew what to do right away. Lex pattered into the closet, rummaging through it to find the duct tape. She heard Ari and Valen talking softly to each other, his voice trembling and desperate, hers firm.
Lex put the duct tape and muzzle on the counter. âGo get the chain from outside, too," said Ari.
Lex nodded. She went out the back door, pulling the stake up from the yard and retrieving the chain. Â
She came back into the kitchen and started wrapping duct tape around the part of the chain that would be closest to him, then took the muzzle and curled tape over all the parts that would be touching his skin.
âAll right,â said Ari. âTry not to panic. Youâre okay. Youâre safe.â
Valen was rigid, sobbing hopelessly. Itâs okay, itâs okay for real this time. Itâs just temporary. Itâs just temporary, sweetheart. Itâs not like before.
Ari's hands eased up, returning him to a standing position. âThere we go,â she cooed. âNice and easy, now. Turn around, please.â
He did so, slowly.  âAll right,â said Lex. âYouâre okay.â
âIâm going to attach the chain to this hook,â said Ari, gently running her finger along the metal collar still attached to his neck. âWeâre not going to bind your hands. Weâre just going to make it harder to bite and lunge, so you can stop yourself before you hurt us. Your hands will be free, and youâll still be able to talk. Then youâll get to eat.â
Shit, they didnât have the key for the padlock on the metal collar around his neck. And they couldnât ask Nick for itâŠMaybe they could figure out some way to get it off later. But for nowâŠmaybe theyâd need to use it.
âPlease,â said Valen tearfully. âIâIâIââ He choked, breaking off.
âDo you think you can handle that?â said Ari. âItâs just as long as you canât keep yourself from lunging when you smell it. Okay? Weâre leaving your hands free, weâre trusting you to work with us here. We know you want to feed without hurting us. Think you can handle that?â
âIf you canât, itâs OK to say so,â said Lex. âWeâll think of something else.â
âI can handle it,â he said. âI canâI can handle it, thank you, thank you for trusting me. I wonât bite you, I wonât use persuasion.â His chest hitched. âThank you for trusting me.â
Lex put her hand on his shoulder. âThank you for trusting us.â
Sheâd been half-afraid he wouldnât have, that he would just use persuasion again as soon as he could, even after the conversation in the backyard. He didnât have many options with it being daytime outside, not able to make another getaway like before, but he could have certainly tried. She squeezed his shoulder. Thank you, thank you. Thank you for letting us help you.
He flinched as Ari clipped a carabiner onto the ring on the collar. Lex handed her the silver chain. âJust stay still,â said Ari as she clipped the carabiner through the chain. âThere we go. Good boy.â
He flushed with humiliation. Maybe Lex should ask Ari to stop doing that.
âOkay, letâs go into the living room,â said Ari.
Lex helped him walk as Ari led him out. They had him kneel in front of the radiator, where Ari connected the chain to the radiator with the combination lock from earlier. âThere,â said Ari. âDoes that feel okay?â
âY-yes,â said Valen, curling up on the floor. âTh-thank you.â He could at any time unclip the carabiner and free himself, of course. That was the point. They had trust, now, maybe just a little. This was a tool to help all of them get him fed without anyone getting hurt, and he knew it.
âOkay,â said Lex, putting a few more loops of tape onto the parts of the muzzle that would touch his skin. âAre you ready for this, now?â
âY-yesâŠNo! Yes. Yes, Iâm ready.â
âO-okay,â said Lex. âIâm going to put it on now.â If youâre actually readyâŠ
Lex made sure all the parts that would inhibit his ability to speak had been removed, then approached, prompting Valenâs trembling to start up again. She gently slipped it on, then came behind him to do up the buckle.
He freaked out, pawing the muzzle off like a dog, sobbing and throwing it to the ground. He immediately wrung his hand and started apologizing. âIâIâm sorry, I tried not toâit wasâit was a reflexâIâm sorry.â
âOkay, thatâs okay,â said Lex. She gave him a reassuring touch and reached down to pick it back up. âHere, why donât you take it, and put it on when youâre ready.â
He eyed the proffered device warily.
âYou donât have to put it on until youâre ready,â said Ari. âBut weâre not going to feed you until you have it on. Okay?â
âO-okay,â said Valen. He took the device from her, and she stepped back. They both just watched him, giving him time.
He stared at the inside of the muzzle, clearly trying to control his breathing. He lifted it to his face with trembling hands, holding it there, fumbling with the belt with uncoordinated hands. âCan youâcan you pleaseâhelp meââ
Lex came over before he even finished asking, securing the buckle. âThere, is that okayââ
âLet meââ Valen said, panic rising again. âLet meâj-j-j-just take it off again.â
Lex backed away. Valen struggled to undo the buckle, then eventually got it to snap off. The muzzle fell into his lap.
âAll good?â said Ari, with a thumbs-up.
âY-yes,â said Valen. âJ-just let meâŠJust let me put it on and take it off a few times.â
He did so, getting gradually better at doing and undoing the buckle. Take your time, sweetheart. Weâll go when youâre ready. When you really believe the muzzle will come off when you want it to.
âO-okay,â he said, doing it up for the last time, and folding his hands in his lap. âI think Iâm ready now. I think Iâm ready. P-please.â
âAll right,â said Ari. âYou stay here. Me and Lex will bring it to you. Stay there, just like that. If you take the chain off, our priority goes from feeding you to restraining you. Got it?â
âYes,â said Valen. âThank you. Thank you.â
Lex and Ari went back into the kitchen, watching him out of the corner of their eyes. Ari took another bag of blood out of the fridge and repeated what sheâd done before, setting it in the sink and cutting it open with scissors.
Just the same as before, there was an instantaneous response, him slamming to the full length of the chain, hissing and spitting, eyes dull with base animal intelligence, strangling himself to try and reach them. Maybe it was just their imagination, but it looked like his fangs had gotten longer, and his fingers sharper as he raked the floor.
âJ-Jesus,â whispered Ari. She poured blood into a drinking glass, then ran some water into it, swirling it to mix.
She stuck a straw into the glass, then turned to assess Valen. He panted, still kneeling on the floor, his cheeks flushed, but he looked a little embarrassed, which meant he had the presence of mind to be embarrassed. Â
âAll right,â she said, bringing it in. âGood job, youâre doing good. Back up a little bit.â
He shuffled backwards. Ari set the glass down on the floor next to his claw marks, within his reach, and then backed up. âAll right. Go ahead. All yours. Drink it slowly, so you donât get sick.â
Valen crawled forward, extending his hand to take the glass. His unsteady hand knocked it over instead, spilling the blood all over the wood floor. His face fell, looking like he was discovering new hopes he didnât even know could be taken away. âI-Iâm sorry.â
âItâs okay,â said Lex.
âWe still have the other hâNo.â This last part came as Valen knelt and tried to lick the blood off the floor, pressing the mesh muzzle into it. After a second, he wet his hands with the diluted liquid and tried to push it through into his mouth. âNo, no, donât do that.â
âPleaseââ said Valen as Ari came over and gently took the chain, hauling him back, sliding him across the wooden floor. âPleaseâjust let meââ
âYou donât have to eat off the floor,â said Lex. âWe'll get you a new glass.â
âDonât lick the floor,â said Ari. âWe donât do that here. Weâre all people. We all get treated like people. People donât make other people eat off the floor.â
Part of Lex wanted to let him do it, he seemed to want it so badly. But she knew Ari was right. Heâd already been humiliated enough as it was. He didnât need to eat blood off the floor, through a muzzle, on top of all that.
Lex got some towels to wipe the spill up. No use making him look at it if they werenât going to let him at it. Ari went back to the kitchen and ran more water, making another glass.
Theyâd try as many times as it took to get food into him. It was what he needed, and deserved, and it fell to them to make sure he got it. Lexâs soft-hearted compassion, and Ariâs sense of duty and responsibility both made them arrive at that answer independently.Â
Ari came back over, and both of them knelt in front of him. âCome here, big guy,â said Ari.
He tentatively crawled over, staying at armâs reach, not further.
âGive me your hands,â said Ari.
He extended them out. Ari took one and used it to pull him closer, his thighs sliding across the wooden floor. Then, she put the glass in his hand, using both of hers to fix both of his onto the glass.
âYou got it?â
âY-yes,â he said. âB-but Iâm not sure if I have theâhand strength to lift it to my mouth.â
Ari smiled gently. âThatâs what the straw is for.â
Valen lowered his head, and Lex poked the straw the muzzle so he could start sucking the blood up.
The blood moved up the straw and into his mouth, and he shuddered. Tears welled in his eyes, and he let out small, overwhelmed sounds.
âThere we go,â said Ari, as he continued to obediently sip. She removed one hand and stroked his hair. âGood boy.â
He shuddered and flushed.
âIâm not sure if he likes it when you do that,â said Lex.
Valen flushed even more deeply, averting his eyes.
âSee, heâs embarrassed,â said Lex.
Ari huffed a laugh. âLex, thatâs exactly what you look like when I play with your hair and call you a good girl.â
It was Lexâs turn to blush. Oh god, really? Leave it to Ari to embarrass her in front of a vampire.
But he didnât seem to care much. His eyes slid closed, enjoying the feeling of feeding straight from gentle hands touching him.

so i have a few questions
1)i cannot understand how you ship k*ramel. their relationship was FILLED with toxicity. from mon-el failing over and over again to listen to what kara had to say to him basically telling her to give up being kara danvers. convincing her that "being supergirl and having you is enoughâ was absolutely horrible. karamel had their moments but overall it was toxic. then in s3 mon el was married and the whole point of season 3 was allowing them to move on. accepting the toxicity from s2 and pushing past that romanticized time. mon el was a better person by 3b but he was still married. even if mon el and imra did break up in the finale thereâs no future for karamel. even during 5x13 kara went to ask on advice about lena. and when winn came to visit from the future not a word about him. sheâs moved on and it just wouldnât make sense for kara to end up with him.
2) how can you hate lena so so so much?? itâs been said over and over again that all sheâs ever wanted to do is good. though sheâs designed to be this morally grey character. she has FLAWS but thatâs what makes her so good. sheâs a victim of abuse and you can see her struggle with that especially in seasons 4 and 5. in 5 she definitely goes down a questionable path but how can you expect her not too? after being emotionally abused by her brother, betrayed by her family, andrea (this did happen before kara), and then eve. finding out that kara and EVERYONE she loves has betrayed her as well. I mean how could you not go mad?? and even when she âwent madâ she was trying to rid humanity of PAIN. something she later realized was a necessary part of life. her hurt blinded her from reality and lexâs manipulation pushed her down further. sheâs been hurt and broken so many times and while thatâs not an excuse for what sheâs done you have no sympathy for her and that I find appalling. lena has realized what sheâs done is wrong, that sheâs made mistakes, what she did to kara, and she will have to live with that isnât that punishment enough? sheâs apologized and is trying to make up for everything sheâs done by saving the world (again). your unnecessary hate towards her infuriates me. cant you take a step back and see the whole picture?
3) why DONT you ship supercorp or accept the queerbaiting? (watch this: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=C2w2GBXd_Pg) They are the core relationship of the show while the danvers sisters are the heart. theyâve gone through so so much together and practically dated in early season 2. they love each other itâs just oh so apparent. i like to believe one of the reasons lena reacted so strongly in s5 is because she was in love with kara and she couldnât handle the person she was in love with lying to her. and kara flew around the world to get lenaâs favorite food!! if thatâs not romantic idk what is. I feel like youâve developed such a clouded view of supercorp that you need to take a step back and understand what lena is the love of karaâs life.
wow what a long message. im not here to hate. im here to inform & undertand. i get it. karamel had their moments and even MY perception of them might be a little cloudy. im not going to hate you for liking them. hell I even shipped them for a little! my brother thinks 3b mon el and kara wouldâve been perfect but he understands that supercorp is just where the show is leading and he wants them to be endgame. but what I will hate is your hate. whatâs the point of all this? this thread, this account is going to do NOTHING. so why bother? I debated sending this and I hope Iâm not too harsh at times but I really wanna see what you say. I hope you can open your eyes to lena and supercorp. maybe even become a supercorp shipper yourself!
- thanks and supercorp endgame đâ€ïž
First of all, if you want to discuss ships in the future send this type of anons to facepalming-since-chernobyl, this blog is not for this, but for gathering receipts.
1.I just ship it, I donât get why you have to understand it. Itâs shipping. But if you insist:
No, it was not filled with toxicity. Count me when he failed to listen to her when they were in a relationship. Secondly, he is not a dog, he has his brain, he is his own person. People donât always do what others asked them to do. Itâs not slavery.
He has NEVER said to her to give up being Kara Danvers. How did he exactly convince her? How can you read the scene that he convinced her that being supergirl and having him is erasing Kara Danvers? In this scene he supports anything SHE WANTS to do. Also, Kara Danvers doesnât equal Kara being a reporter in CatCo. On that moment she had her blog. She change peopleâs live with it like a real reporter. She took the risk and met consequences of her actions aka being fired by Snapper. Also, remind me who told her to create a blog? With your logic Lena was erasing Kara Danvers too.
Friendly reminder that he was forced to the marriage to keep peace. Also, friendly reminder Imra and the Legion out him in this situation without telling him about her plans. She and Brainiac put him there, knowing exactly how much he loved Kara and how much she meant to him. Imra knew that, thatâs why she asked him to stay and solve his feelings. She said if he had come back, she would have known he had no doubts. But he wanted to stay, thatâs why they broke up. He came back because once again he sacrificed himself for the greater good, like a real hero. Maybe watch the Argo eps because they clearly show that no, it was no about moving on.
It was not accepting about so called toxicity. First of all, she already forgave him that he lied. Secondly, all of she was screaming in that scene, when she was infected with Mârynnâs powers, happened before they got together and it was already approached in the musical ep. Aka, this scene had no point.
There is no future for karamel because you say so?
Kara went to asked him, because she truly believed and trusted him and his judgment. And yes, she asked about Lena and what did he said? That Kara deserved the same compassion she gives others, something Lena never gave her. And sorry, I know all scs scream the 100 ep was about sc, but it was about Kara fully realizing she is not responsible for Lenaâs horrible choices. Thatâs it. And friendly reminder she called her a villain in the last scene. Also, the ep showed than no matter what, Lena always ends screwing something, because she has too big ego, always knows better, doesnât stand criticism and doesnât trust anyone.
It doesnât make sense for you. Suit yourself.
2.Her fans made me hate her :) Thanks to them and how they excuse her every horrible action, how they treat her as a victim, while she abuse everyone etc. I started to watch her more carefully. And well, she is a horrible, white, privileged capitalist, who plays god, judge, jury, has mommy issues and acts like typical Luthor while crying she is not one, while still using Luthors money and resources.
Yeah, many people want to make good and end doing evil things. Common people pay for their sins, she has never. Since allowing hostile Daxamite army to invade the Earth (also, her portal affected the other aliens who destroyed the NC), producing a device that could recofnize aliens without their consent (and it was used by Children of Liberty,)producing and lying about Kryptonite, trying to make people superpowered without any supervision, killing Adam during illegal experiment, supporting openly alienphobic president and in a way Agent Liberty, killing Lex and then blaming Kara and finally manipulating Kara for months, lying, gaslighting, yelling, making her steal Lex journal, trying to lobotomize her and tortured with kryptonite, hurting every way possible, physically and mentally. Working with mass murderer, enslaving 3 people (kidnapping Eve, without her consent putting AI into her mind, basically RAPING her brain and making her a puppet in her own body; enslaving end experimenting on Malefic and Russel â threatening to kill him to steal Andreaâs necklace) â none of it are flaws. It was horrible abuse and violating every human right and the fact some people excuse it is disgusting.
First of all, being victim of abuse doesnât give you the rights to HURT other people. The fact I have to explain pains me. Secondly, what abuse exactly? Lillian didnât love her? Lex kidnapped her? Said he was going to kill her? You know what? Winn HAD HORRIBLE past and he didnât turn into a murderer. Mon-El was abused by his mother and never tortured Kara with Kryptonite. Jâonn killed a lot of white martians but last time I checked he doesnât feel good about it. Also, never said the things he has done were GOOD. See a difference?
Yeah, and all of it, still doesnât give her the rights to torture people. Also, friendly reminder she lied to Supergirl about Kryptonite in s3, much before the whole drama. Remember how she destroyed the life of a girl that stole boyfriend in middle school? It clearly shows she always had THAT in her. Plus, sorry not sorry, if she wanted different life, outside her family she could have easily done that. She was in Star City, with Jack, doing her researches, making her career. And she threw it all away, because she WANTED to be a Luthor.
Plus, sorry not sorry, if you feel betrayed and hurt because your friend didnât tell you something she didnât OWE you, you go to therapy, not trying to lobotomize entire planet.
Mate, she wanted to lobotomizer entire humanity, without ANYONEâS consent, because SHE, one single Lena, felt hurt. This is playing a GOD. Nothing explains it.
Planning a cold ass revenge for months is not being blinded by feelings.
Once again, even if could argue about how many times she was broken, most of that was a white privileged life she chose herself but whatever, it still doesnât excuse her. All of she has done should meet consequences. Paying for shit you have done, accepting it, fully realizing what you have done is a part of redemption. Still in s5 she didnât even apologize to Kara. Because she still didnât understand what she has done and doesnât feel sorry about it.
Feel appalled as much as you want, because Iâm not going to feel sorry for a white, privileged woman who has never paid for her actions and is basically a living avatar of the worst Karen you can imagine.
She realized Lex was using her horrible experiments (remember? She experimented on puppies too) to his own agenda, thatâs why she went to Kara. Thatâs not grasping a thing. Mhm, if you call that an apology then suit yourself. She is not saving the world, she is helping once again other people fixing the shit she created.
Feel infuriated as much as you want, because I donât care? Especially when it comes from a person who tells others to take a step back while being totally narrow minded about Mon-El and karamel.
3.Because actors, prodcuers, writers call SC a female friendship. Mel did that in her last interview. See whatever you want but maybe stop forcing people to ship a horribly abusive ship.
Well⊠no. Kara is the heart and soul of the Supergirl. Alex is her most important relationship. Lena is an important friend, who doesnât deserve it yet, but we all know Kara is the Paragon of Hope so of course she is going to forgive her.
I know you people think sc dated because they breathed in one room, but in s2 Kara dated, had sex, kissed, cuddled and enjoyed her time with Mon-El.
Yeah, they love each other as friends. It was said more than once.
Thatâs your delusion, you are free to do it.
Kara done that to Alex too, so you are saying she is romantically in love with her sister or something? If bringing people food is romantic and damn, most of the people I know loves me, god.
No, lena is not Karaâs love of her life.
Cool, you are not going to hate me because I ship karamel, Iâm touched.
Sorry that you are going to be super disappointed in the end of the show I guess.
You will hate my hate â whatâs the point of it?
Once again, because I donât think you understand the point of this blog or read the description â itâs gathering receipts of assholes who cross tag and hate on the actors. Maybe go and search #gross hate or #cast hate on this blog so you can see how amazing your fandom is. Have fun.
I would rather eat my own shit than starting shipping the victim of abuse with her abuser.
Thanks and no :)

Mind Controlled â The Series.
Part 2 â Pull the trigger.
Supercorp, Kara Danvers x Daughter!Reader, Lena Luthor x Daughter!Reader, Alex Danvers x Niece!Reader, Lex Luthor x Niece!Reader.
Word count: 2300.
Warning: Injuries, violence, pain, angst.
Previously on the series - part 1
You land on the same room, on the same building, waiting for Lex's voice to come out of the speaker with further instructions. Youâre ready to do whatever he asks from you.
âYouâre back, my bösewicht.â You hear his voice sometime later. âI presume you have done a good job leaving your mothers wrecked?â
âYes, sir.â
âSuch an obedient little monster. A Super with a Luthorâs brain. Why has no one thought about this before? Oh yes, I have. But they called me a mad man for it, and yet here you are.â And there you are. Standing still, staring at a wall, waiting for more orders. âIn that stupid outfit, dear Lord, why would anyone be dressed in those stupid clothes?â
You look down on your super suit. You do look stupid. This stupid skirt, horrible boots, long sleeve shirt so tight if you were human, it would mark your skin. It makes you so sick you want to rip it off of your body.
âNevertheless, with you playing pet for me, I can do whatever I want even still in jail.â The static comes again, but Lex doesnât stop talking. âI shouldâve known Lena would be greedy and want a smart and powerful kid. But I hadnât had confirmation, that was until mother came here to visit and told me all about you. So impressed with her little granddaughter.â He lets out a chuckle. âI canât imagine how infuriated sheâll be once she finds out it was her, who gave me the idea to mind control you.â
You think about Lillian, and how impressed she is with you. You give yourself a cocky smile. She should be impressed, you are impressive.
âKryptonians might have strong minds, but Luthors? Weâre unfortunately just humans. So my bright sister didnât think that having a powerful kryptonian daughter with a susceptible mind wasnât a good idea?â He scoffs. "Oh, Lena. You may try, but you will never be smart like me.â
Thereâs a loud breathing sound.
âThatâs enough of chatting. I have better things for you to do, my bösewicht. Youâll break me out of jail when itâs time, but first-â Thereâs a wicked little pause. âLetâs destroy the Super name.â
Your body is suddenly filled with rage and wrath. You want to destroy everything. You want to drop a bomb in everyoneâs head. You want to make them suffer.
âThatâs it. Use your rage. Destroy National City, scare them, let them see you in your worst form. Let them fear the Supers, and then, come for me.â
âYes, sir.â
You fly off the window, looking for a place to start. You want to cause damage, you want them to be scared of you, whoever they may be.
You start off by using your heat vision to draw the âHouse of Elâ symbol in the middle of the park, so they know whoâs responsible for all that it is coming their way. You watch the grass burning, the form coming along and your heart beats fast, enthusiastic.
You didnât even start the destruction part yet, and this already feels fulfilling. You know exactly where to go next.
You fly to your training center and you look down. This stupid-ass place gives you no good memories at all. You got beat up, got yelled at, got annoyed every time your powers didnât work like they were supposed to, got angry at people looking at you thinking you werenât good enough. You remember their disapproving looks; you remember the tiniest of sighs youâve heard.
Fuck them all.
Your heat vision hits the ground, and your heart gets heavy, but your powers never stop. You can almost taste the feeling of being a disappointment in your mouth. And it gets you incredibly proud of yourself. You want to disappoint them. Them being proud of you means nothing at all.
You look down on the entire place up in flames. This is the right thing. Destroying this place will send them a message. You are not their little pet anymore. They canât keep you under a leash, pretending youâre not powerful and fucking special. Youâre so fucking special, even Lex wants your powers.
Itâs not long until Supergirl flies in front of you. You smirk at her looking down. Thereâs a powerful feeling cursing through your veins. You know she can see it too. Your hair blowing in the wind, your stupid super suit moving almost in slow motion, your eyes burning of rage with little flames dancing in the dark of your enlarged pupils.
âI believe you owe me an apology.â Itâs the first thing you say, after unclenching your jaw. âYou called me weak.â You spit, disgusted. âYou were mistaken.â
âDeeply.â Kara agrees looking down, and you notice the cars from the DEO stopping, people getting out of them in desperation, trying to put out the fire. That makes you so happy. She looks back at you. âIs this what this whole thing is about? Youâre trying to prove to me youâre strong, after all this time?â
âTrying?â You scoff, then your face goes back to a frown. âI donât need to prove myself. Especially not to someone who uses her powers to stop bank robberies instead of having the world under her firm grip.â
âI know youâre not my daughter.â Kara comes a little bit closer; you donât move. Youâre not scared of her, but she should be scared of you. âAre you bizarro?â
âYouâre too far consumed in this battle of ego to see right in front of you.â You tilt your head, letting a creepy smile dangle on your lips. âDonât you recognize your little one, mommy?â
âIf thatâs the case, then I have to stop you either way, little one.â Kara does her whole superhero pose and you laugh at her.
âYou canât. You donât have the stomach.â You look down to the ground and you see Lena there. âI see, you wonât be the one doing it. Clean hands, right? Let the Luthor hurt the Kryptonian. Itâs the natural order of things.â
âIâm sorry, my love. It has to be done.â Supergirl flies towards you in one motion. You still try to fly away, but she is a little faster, so she grabs you easily. You push her, punch her, you even pull her hair, but she doesnât let go.
She lands on the floor with you wrapped in her arms, and Lena comes closer. Kryptonite gun in hand. Soon, youâre surrounded by agents with their own guns. Supergirl lets you go, flying above you, but not leaving, in case you decide to make a run for it.
You look at Lena. Gun in hand. You listen to her heartbeat going crazy and you smile at her.
Letâs play, mom.
âDo it.â You dare. âI want to see you pull that trigger. I want to see you hurt your own daughter with Kryptonite.â
âI donât want to do this, baby.â Lena assures you, taking a small step towards you. âI promise you, Iâll figure out whatâs going on with you. You just have to come with me.â
âYouâve always known, havenât you?â You lock eyes with watery green eyes behind the gun. âYouâve always known someday the Luthor genes would shine through. Because no matter how good the Super gene is, the Luthor one is worse. So, so bad. Rotten to the core. Youâve always known I wouldnât be able to resist.â
âIâve told you before. We are not Luthors. We are Luthor-Danvers, and that means something. Please, stand down. Let me look at you.â
âTell me to stand down one more time and Iâll throw-â You look at one guy on your left and point at him. âThat guy into space.â
âBaby.â Itâs Lenaâs last try, you can see it in her face. You can see the way her finger presses lightly at the trigger. You also hear how that makes everyone else do the exact same movement.
âIâm not going to run away. But I wonât surrender, either.â You defy her. âIf you want me to go with you, then you have to do it. You have to pull the trigger and you have to live with the guilt all your life.â
âIâm sorry it has come to this, baby.â But her face doesnât hold much sentiment, nor does she lower her weapon. âBut you know I have to do this. You canât go on pulling stunts like this. You canât keep thinking there are no consequences to your actions.â
âYou are not sorry.â You smirk. âDonât try to play me for a fool, Lena.â Itâs the way her name leaves your mouth that makes her flinch. âI know youâre dying to pull that trigger and be the one who tamed a Kryptonian once again. Itâs what all Luthors want in the end.â
She pulls the trigger, making you fall on the floor in pain, after a blast of kryptonite hits your chest.
âYou should be so satisfied now.â You whimper. Kryptonite filling your body. âYouâve used kryptonite on your wife, and now on your daughter. Itâs a full circle, isnât it?â You spit out your words.
Lena puts you in handcuffs that strip you off of your powers, and strokes your cheeks gently. Eyes full of tears and instant regret.
âIâm bringing you back, my baby. I promise you.â She whispers delicately, like sheâs not even talking to you anymore, but maybe to the memory she has of you.
But the two agents that come from behind you donât pick you up delicately. In fact, they seem very pissed at you, and youâre shoved into the back of a van where Alex is.
âAunt Alex.â You start with your bitchy tone and Alex breathes deep.
âListen kiddo, Iâm not in the mood.â She shakes her head, upset. âYou just caused us millions of dollars in damages, Kara is a wreck, and donât even get me started on Lena.â Alex raises her eyes from her tablet. âI know youâre not yourself, thatâs why I donât give a fuck about this. You start talking? That gag goes in your mouth in a second. Donât think you can play me like you did with your moms.â
âI think the story would be really different if Lena hadnât cuffed me and stripped me off of my powers.â You raise an eyebrow, not breaking eye contact. âYouâre scared of me too.â
âHave you looked at yourself in the mirror?â Alex smiles unbothered. âIâve dealt with things much worse, and much scarier than you and your babyface.â She grabs the gag and looks at you. âNow shut it, or Iâll make you.â
You decide to shut up. Your quarrel isnât with Alex and the last thing you want itâs to be shut up. The best course of action is going willingly, and working something up in the DEO, because you know for sure there is where theyâre taking you.
Itâs Alex who shoves you inside of a cell, when you get there. Locks the glass door, and turns on some red sun lamps. You bite your mouth at the idea of it. They are very scared of you; they keep finding ways to strip you off of your powers.
It takes a few minutes until you hear talking on the other side of the glass. You canât see them, or hear them well enough, but thereâs one voice that stands out. You bitch grin to yourself.
Letâs play, momma.
"Mommyâ You use your best and sweetest voice. Kara comes closer to the glass cell, and you stare at her from the other side. You want to destroy this place brick by brick until thereâs nothing left, but you know if youâre aggressive about it, they wonât let you out. âPlease, let me out. Can you open the door, please?"
"Kid, I'm sorry but we have to understand what's-" Kara starts, but you interrupt her.
"I'm begging you, please, please mommy." You drop on your knees. Tears falling from your eyes, and that act allures a crowd. Lena and Alex soon join Kara on the other side.
"Baby, I'm sorry." Kara gasps, and you watch Lenaâs hand squeezing her shoulder reassuring. âYou know I want to-â
"You said you would protect me. This isn't protection.â Your tears stop falling, youâre angry again. The act isnât working. You clench your fist, using all the strength you have, trying to focus so the anger doesnât consume you. You feel the palms of your hands burning, with nails digging into your flesh. âPlease, this isnât fair. Mom, please, do something.â
"I swear this is for your own good." Lena takes a deep breath, not buying into what youâre saying. Great. Youâre done faking either way.
âFUCK YOU! LET ME OUT OF THIS CELL!â You bang on the cell, screaming as loud as you can. You see your blood leaving hand-shaped marks on the glass. Your scream is loud, but the banging is louder.
âBaby, please, you have to calm down.â You hear Karaâs voice trying to sooth you. It gets you angrier.
"FUCK YOU TOO! LET ME OUT! LET ME OUT NOW!" They look at the blood splashed onto the glass. Your face is burning red, and Kara flinches at the sight of you. Lena doesn't, so you know your best shot is with your momma. "Kara, I swear if you don't open this cell right now, I will hate you until the day I die."
âThatâs enough.â You hear Alexâs voice and the glass turns black. You canât see them on the outside, and you know they canât see inside either. You canât hear their voices, so you suspect theyâre not listening to your unrelenting yell anymore.
Fuck. You need a new escape plan.

girl help im being plagued by thoughts. i was gonna make this a post, but considering how this is so niche, I thought i'd just send this to you by ask
anyways so im having hf/bj thoughts and i absolutely love beej being a bastard, however I'm having thoughts of like 'ok so canon is the same but it just happened in hatchetfield instead of Connecticut and beej is Not a Bastard'
most of my thoughts are revolving around lydia and Hannah meeting up and being like 'able to see weird shit' solidarity like-
Hannah: I've got a spider goddess from this other dimension who protects me named webby
Lydia: I've got a shithead demon who protects me most of the time except if I go into the witchwoods bc "if you're stupid enough to go into the witchwoods, you deserve whats comin for ya"
~
Hannah, frustrated: I wish for once lex or ethan would believe me about webby, the visions, anything!
Lydia, no hesitation: Summon a demon. There's no way anyone would've believed me otherwise. Actually, y'know what that's a lie, Delia might've but Dad needs a literal demon summoning to believe me about that kind of thing
Hannah: Oooh yeah good idea, hey webby-
Webby: nO-
~
Hannah: recently, I've been getting these really cryptic and kinda scary messages from webby about those wiggly dolls recently
Lydia: Oh that guy? I think he owes beej money
~
Anyways idk where im going with this, I just like the idea of the two of them vibing together without the imminent threat of the hive and bastard beej looming over them plus the thought of maitlands going protective ghost parent mode on pamela brings me great joy
apologies for letting this sit in my inbox for so long but with The News i figured i should dig it out and hrng yes lydia and hannah fuck yes lydia being a terrible influence is hilarious also wiggly needs to up his doll sales because othwise beej is entering the black and while with a baseball bat and taking out wileys kneecaps

I'll do anything for you
(A female Jason Todd fanfic)
Jayla knew what the other vigilantes thought of her. In their eyes, she was nothing but a reckless, impulsive, murderer who they only kept around because she was a valuable ally.
A valuable soldier.
And even though it hurts her to know that her family will never love her unless she quits her current lifestyle, sheâll do anything for them. No matter the price.

The Price You Have To Pay
Lex Luthor was a man with many enemies. And because of that, his private office was a highly secured facility.
Youâd have to pass dozens of security protocols before you could even step foot in the building.
But considering the fact that his security team caught a little bird with his wannabe team of superheroes sneaking around, he suspected that he would be getting a visitor soon.
A hot vigilante with dark hair that also contained a stubborn streak of white, perhaps.
He could hear small footsteps getting louder.
Lex leaned forward just as the door swung open. Red Hood walked in like she owned the place.
He eyed her up and down, trying to hide the smirk that was beginning to form as he felt the tension between them steadily rise.
âYou know that ignoring the dress code isnât really a good way to start our negotiations.â Lex drawled, impatiently tapping his fingers against his desk.
Red removed her helmet before raising a perfectly arched eyebrow, âI wasnât about to walk into your building half-naked.â
âGood thing that no oneâs here to see you then.â
Redâs plump lips formed a pretty scowl, âLex.â
âHood.â
Lex didnât know how long they stared at each other before Red gave in, shutting her eyes as she allowed a seductive smile to grace upon her face.
This time, Lex couldnât hold back his grin. âYou know what to do.â
She didnât protest as she slowly took off her clothes, leaving her with only a pair of matching dark red lingerie.
No matter how many times he saw her like this, Lex still felt like he forgot how to breathe.
The heroes might hate her, but even they wonât be able to deny the fact that her beauty is unmatched. One could even go as far and say that her looks pass Wonder Woman's.
She was absolutely breathtaking.
âAre you done staring at me?â The amusement laced in her voice brought him out of his trance.
A predatory glint appeared in his eyes, âFor now.â
Red leaned forward. âWhat do you want, Lex?â Her voice was soft as her lip curled upwards.
Without even thinking, he grabbed her hips. Dragging her entire body towards the older man so that she was straddling him. âNow we can talk.â
Even though her domino mask was still on, Lex knew her well enough to know that she was rolling her eyes. âPerv,â she couldnât help but laugh out as she shifted to a more comfortable position.
âIâm more of an opportunist than a pervert, darling. I mean, no one with a brain could ever resist this sight?â He slapped her ass before giving her a mocking smile. âOne day, Iâm going to wreck your body with all the other suitors you have until the only thing youâll remember is how good it feels to be under our control.â
The vigilante let out a surprised breath of air, âAs fun as that sounds, it probably wonât happen.â He felt her calloused, yet still, somehow soft fingers trail over his chest, âConsidering my expertise, you should know how expensive I can be.â
He squeezed her ass, âThen I guess itâs a good thing that weâre some of the richest people in the world.â
She ignored his last remark, âWhat do you want, Lex.â
âCome on, Red.â he groaned in annoyance, âIt was just starting to become fun.â
She shot him an irritated look, âSorry,â she said, not sounding apologetic at all, âBut Iâm in a bit of a time crunch right now.â
Lex sighed, for once letting it go. He knows how much of a rough time sheâs been having with her other coworkers.
He swears that superheroes are never satisfied.
âWhat do you want,â she repeated. This time, he could hear a bit of impatience leaking in her voice.
âThis one shouldnât be as difficult as the other agreements weâve had over the past few months,â
âJust say it,â Red interrupted.
âIn a few weeks, thereâs going to be a convention in Dubai. And we all know how dangerous these meetings can be sometimes.â
âIf by dangerous, do you mean boring?â Redâs voice cut in as rested her head on his shoulder. âYou just need someone to entertain you.â she teasingly accused.
âYou caught me.â he said dryly, âThis convention is going to last at least a week, so prepare your excuse or something.â
Red leaned away from him, âExcuse for what? No one will even notice that Iâm gone.â she waved off, âUnless thereâs a mission that the bats canât solve, of course. But even then, it barely ever happens, so Iâll be fine.â
For some reason, hearing those words come out of her mouth made his jaw clench. âYet every time a hero is in a situation where they wonât be able to win, you still try your hardest to bargain for their life.â He scoffed, âEven though they canât even bother to treat you decently.â
Red refused to meet his eyes as she clenched her fists. âItâs not their fault. You know that they canât trust me after what Iâve done.â
âBut you havenât done anything wrong.â
âI tried to kill-â
Lex let out a harsh laugh, âIf you wanted to kill them, you wouldâve.â
Red flushed, âI donât know what youâre talking about.â
He raised an eyebrow as he tucked a stray piece of hair behind her ear. âReally? Cause I know about all the training you went through with the League of Assassins. You were holding back. You tried to keep the madness of the pit at bay.â she still refused to meet his gaze, her eyes stubbornly staying on the floor. âAnd because theyâre all well- alive, you succeeded.â
Red shifted, her ass grinding against his cock. She leaned forward and he felt her lips brush against his neck, âStop talking.â she softly muttered.
Lex gently pushed her away, he was not done talking about this subject. âDo they know?â he questioned. âDo they know that if you wanted them dead, they would be? Do they know-â
She gripped his shirt, âStop.â
He ignored her, she needed to hear this. âWith how badly they treat you, one would wonder why you go to such extreme lengths to help them. They donât even care about you. Theyâre only-â
âPlease.â Redâs voice wavered, filled with insecurity. Her hands were still tightly clenching onto his shirt. âJust- just stop.â she pleaded.
Lex froze, finally realizing just how much his words affected her. His face immediately softened. He hadnât wanted to hurt her. He just wanted to show her that they werenât worth her time.
âIâm sorry,â he apologized. He carefully lifted her chin so that his eyes would meet hers. âWhat I said was uncalled for. I shouldâve phrased it better.â
She gave him a small smile that didnât quite reach her eyes, âItâs fine.â Lex didnât know who she was trying to convince, him or her. âYou arenât exactly wrong.â
âNo, it isnât fine. I really am sorry, my little agnar.â He ignored how her whole face seemed to turn red at the nickname, âI shouldnât have been so-â he searched his head for the right word. â-inconsiderate about your feelings.â
Red only nodded, âIs there anything else you need for the release of my brother and his team?â
âIâll also need you to pay for all the damage they caused,â he admitted.
âAgain?â When he nodded, she only sighed and got off his lap. âOkay, Iâll send you the money soon.â
âDo try and get these heroes in line, Red. Some people have plans, and itâll be so much easier to complete them when a group of teenagers playing superheroes arenât around to mess it up.â
Red only gave him a smirk, her small breakdown already forgotten. âYou know that I canât do that. If you have any complaints, you can always report it to the Justice League.â
âAs if theyâd actually do something about it.â
Red laughed, âYou arenât wrong. They preach about saving the world, yet they ignore all the damages theyâve inflicted when they do just that.â
âSince youâre in a bit of a time crunch, I think I might just let you go now.â He licked his lips as he gave her body another attentive glance, âJust a warning though, our next meeting will probably be more intense than this one.â
She gave him a mischievous look, âIs that a promise?â
âYou know it.â
She gave him a final smile before bending down to grab her clothes, then walking away as her hips slowly swayed from side to side.
She didnât even bother to put them on.
Even though he could no longer see her face, he knew that she was smirking. The vigilante was aware of his bodyâs reaction towards hers.
Lex dropped onto his chair, moving to try and hide his erection before his eyes started drifting towards the office camera.
He couldnât hold back a grin as a plan started to form in his head.
If there was one thing that Lex was sure of- it was that the bats were naturally suspicious. If the little bird and his team were suddenly free and were able to escape his building without much trouble, they would start to become skeptical.
He wasnât known for being intelligent for nothing.
Lex would prove to Red that she deserved better.
She doesnât owe those heroes anything.
Despite everything that sheâs done for them, they still tore out the feathers of her damaged wings until she could no longer fly.
Lex could forget Superman for a while. This was a more crucial matter.

don't wanna lose this with you
hello friends I told the group chat I would post this when... well anyways enjoy.
xoxo nina
The moment happens almost too quickly for him to believe itâs real. Heâs typing up a chart, about to tell his interns to run labs when she floats across his peripheral vision. Heâd recognize her anywhere, always had been able to, but he wasnât expecting her here. Her hair was shorter, blonde highlighting the normally dark brown color. Her tanned skin popped against the dark grey scrubs she wore, eyes glued to the tablet in front of her. Before he can stop himself, Alex finds himself calling out to her, her eyes darting up in surprise as she moves away from the nurses station to look back at him.
Thatâs when he sees it, the all too obvious swell of her stomach stretching against her scrubs. She looks like a deer in headlights as their gazes meet, eyes wide and watering. He wants to walk over and fold her into his arms and ask a million questions and apologize profusely all at once, but sheâs turning and running the other way before he has a chance.
Alex can barely concentrate the rest of the day, his mind stuck on the vision of Jo standing in the same hallway as him sporting a sizable baby bump. He has no idea why sheâs in San Francisco, much less working in a childrenâs hospital of all places, but heâs grateful that she is and that he just so happened to see her. Lost in his thoughts he barely registers the door of his office opening and closing, the sound of the lock clicking into place startling him from his daze.
Jo is standing with her back pressed against the door, eyes trained on him as silence surrounds them. Sheâs changed out of her scrubs, her baby bump all the more noticeable with her t-shirt and cardigan combo. Her feet are shifting as if sheâs uncomfortable, not with the situation but as if sheâs in pain. Her features are schooled and neutral, but Alex doesnât miss her fingers kneading her back or the slow shallow breaths she takes.
âSit down, youâve probably been on your feet all day,â Alex is expecting Jo to bite back with a stubborn remark but instead she silently complies, lowering herself into one of the chairs across from him with a relieved sigh. Her fingers stretch out across her stomach and he canât help but watch in awe as she attempts to calm the baby beneath her skin.
Thereâs a silence between them as they sit across from each other. Itâs the closest theyâve been in months but it still feels like an oceanâs length between them. Alex watches Jo for a moment before speaking up, âWhatâre you doing here? Why arenât you in Seattle?â
âI switched specialties, to OB,â Jo shrugged, eyes focusing on her fingers that are still rubbing circles into her belly. âI had a chance to do an OB residency at UCSF so I took it. I just⊠I needed to get away from Seattle. Iâm here because I was checking up on one of the babies I delivered. What are you doing here?â
The question almost makes Alex laugh, âIzzieâs husband was offered a job as chief of oncology. It made sense for them and the childrenâs hospital needed a chief so⊠Here I am.â
Before he even finishes his sentence Jo is chuckling, the sound coming out softly until it turns into full on laughter. Alex stares at her in confusion watching as her laughter turns into loud sobs, tears streaming down her face as she struggles to catch her breath, âYouâre so stupid Alex! Youâre freaking ridiculous!â
Alex watches helplessly as Joâs sobs continue to sound out, knowing that she wouldnât be pleased if he got up to console her. Instead he sits and waits for her to continue talking, knowing he owes her at least that much.
âYou left me all alone in Seattle with an empty loft and divorce papers and a freaking baby and you donât even have the decency to be with the woman you said you loved, the woman you told me you left me for,â Alex canât tell if Jo is sobbing or laughing at this point, the sounds coming from her wrenching his heart. âYou left me! I didnât think Iâd ever see you again because you left after you told me you never would. You told me you were in love with someone else but now youâre here and-â
Alex canât help it that time as he rounds his desk and kneels in front of Jo, his arms coming up to pull her into his embrace. Her cries donât stop as he holds her but he takes her arms wrapping around his neck as a sign that not all hope is lost.
-
âAlex? You never call, is everything okay?â
âEverything is fine, the kids are fine. I was just wondering if you could pick them up today.â
âSure, Iâm off today,â thereâs a pause before Izzie speaks up again. âAre you sure everything is okay? With you I mean?â
Alexâs eyes float to Jo whoâs curled up on his couch, one hand resting on her stomach as she sleeps, âNo. Well I mean yes just⊠complicated. Iâll explain when I pick up Eli and Lex on Friday. Thanks again.â
âTake care of yourself Alex. See you Friday.â
Alex hangs up quickly, thankful for Izzieâs understanding. The uptight and inquisitive Izzie he had known so many years ago was gone, replaced by a laidback and easy going woman. He blamed their children for that, the set of twins so rambunctious and full throttle that he knows the old Izzie wouldâve gone crazy trying to contain them. Now though she managed their hyper spurts and six year old craziness with a two year old on her hip and every hair still in place. How she does it Alex will never know.
His eyes trail to Jo, who had turned to her other side so he could see her face again. Even asleep she looks stressed and exhausted, like she hasnât been able to sleep peacefully in months. Alex kneels next to the couch, letting his hand rest next to hers on her stomach. A firm kick echoes under his palm, the baby below it moving languidly in their motherâs womb as he cherishes the movement.
âI just got them to settle down,â Joâs voice startles him, his eyes snapping back up to her face as the baby continues to move around. âTheyâve been moving around like crazy the last couple days, probably running out of room.â
âDo you know the gender?â
Jo shakes her head, eyes closing again as her hand shifts to cover Alexâs. She hasnât told him exactly when but he assumes sheâs due soon. Heâd left Seattle almost seven months ago now, meaning Jo must have gotten pregnant right before he left. His heart sinks at the realization that not only had he missed witnessing all of Joâs pregnancy firsthand but he hadnât been able to help or support her either.
âI donât need you Alex, I can do this by myself,â Joâs words snap Alex out of his daze, scanning her face and watching her intently as she avoids his gaze. âIâve been doing this on my own for seven months and I donât need you now.â
He knows sheâs right, if anyone knows what a fighter Jo is itâs him. Alex knows full well that she doesnât need his help or support with their child no matter how desperately he wants to be there for her. If she decides to walk away from him after everything heâd done she would and there would be no stopping her.
âI donât need you⊠but I want you here,â the crack in her voice has Alex leaning up to wipe at the tears that streak her cheeks, her own fingers moving to curl around his. âPlease donât leave again. I donât want to do this without you, I know I could but I donât want to. Please Alex.â
He doesnât waste any time in leaning down and bringing Jo into his embrace, holding her close to his chest as sobs wrack her body. The guilt that has been weighing so heavily on him finally crashes down as he holds her, his grip tightening as he reassures her, âIâm not leaving again, I promise. Iâm so sorry Jo, Iâm not going to leave you I swear.â
âThatâs what you said last time Alex, I canât handle it if you leave me again,â Jo pulls back from his embrace, meeting his eyes solemnly. âItâs not just me anymore, you canât just walk away again. I want⊠I want so badly to trust you again and to raise our baby together but Iâm also really scared. Iâm putting a lot on the line trusting you.â
Alex pauses for a moment, eyeing Jo as he processes everything sheâs unloaded onto him. When he finally speaks again, heâs more sure of his words than he has been of anything ever, âIâm not gonna promise you anything, I donât deserve that privilege anymore. But I swear that everyday Iâll try my hardest to show you how much you mean to me. You and our baby⊠youâre everything and Iâm not letting you go again. I know my words are hollow at this point but Iâm going to show you that I mean them.â
He doesnât think that the words will magically fix anything, that his promises to Jo will change her mind or make her completely trust him just like that. But saying them out loud, to not only her but himself, made the words seem more real. He wasnât going to let her slip out his grasp again.
+
âHey, whatâre you doing?â
âIâm about to head into a board meeting,â Alex pauses outside of the conference room, phone pressed to his ear as he waits for Jo to continue talking. âAre you okay? What about the baby?â
âWeâre both fine, stop freaking out,â Joâs laugh across the line calms Alexâs racing heart momentarily, a small grin coming to his face. âI just finished a delivery, but my water broke right as I was catching the baby.â
âYouâre not due for two weeks,â Alex exclaims as he begins heading for his office, his meeting long forgotten as he now had a different destination in mind. âHow are you so calm about this?â
âBecause I knew youâd be freaking out. Weâre fine, really we are. I just got settled into my room,â Alex listens intently as Jo takes a pause, her breathing more shallow as he grabs his keys and wallet from his desk. âOkay that hurt. If this kid has a giant head Iâm gonna be so pissed.â
Alex chuckles to himself, his mind reeling at the fact that in a few hours he and Jo would have their baby in their arms, âIâm leaving the hospital now, Iâll be there in 20 minutes.â
âGood, I donât want my new coworkers to hate me because I yelled at them while trying to push a giant Karev baby out of my-,â Joâs voice cuts off as she lets out a groan, the sound pulling at Alexâs heart as he speeds through the hallways in an attempt to get to her quicker. âOh holy fuck. Seriously, thatâs what that feels like? No wonder my patients are always screaming.â
âWell yeah, youâre about to push out almost eight pounds of-â
âThatâs enough from you, Iâll see you when you get here. Room 282,â Jo pauses for a moment, Alex stopping his walk to his car as he listens intently. Even with things still tense between them, he could tell when she was nervous. âJust donât take too long, okay?â
âIâll be there as fast as I possibly can be, promise,â Alex quickly exchanges goodbyes with Jo before hanging up and continuing his path to his car.
As he climbs in his eyes move to the car seat strapped into his backseat. The sight wasnât unusual since he often had the twins with him but the infant carrier made his heart swell with anticipation. He was going to be a dad again and this time he was going to be able to witness his childâs life from the moment it started. No playing catch up, no surprises down the line, he would be there from his childâs first breath and heâd get to raise them with the woman he loved.
Alex lets his thoughts drift to Jo as he makes the short drive to the main hospital across town. He was beyond thankful sheâd given him a second chance when he absolutely hadnât deserved one, even more thankful that sheâd allowed him to still be in not only their childâs life but hers as well. Jo had met Alexis and Eli who were immediately fascinated with Joâs belly and the fact that their sibling was moving around in there. Sheâd bonded instantly with his children, Alex sometimes questioning if they liked her better than him. Theyâd talked a little bit, about the baby and what the future held for the three of them. For the most part though, Alex and Jo communicated physically, the way they always did best.
He was shocked the first night sheâd spent over at his house when sheâd left the guest room not long after they'd said goodnight, quietly crawling beneath the covers of his own bed and molding her body against the side of his. It felt natural, the way they curled together even with their child growing between them. When he woke the next morning, Jo looked peaceful instead of restless and worried like he had noted days before when sheâd napped on his couch. After that it seemed only natural for them to find their way into each otherâs arms at the end of the day, whether at his house or her apartment. Alexâs fingers would float across her belly as he traced their babyâs movements while Joâs hands held tight to his t-shirt, both of their bodies falling into a deep sleep.
The few nights that they spent apart when one of them would return alone to their respective homes were soon nonexistent, Joâs voice breaking through the quiet of her room one night to mention that her lease would be up soon. And so, without a verbal conversation about the matter Alex had spent a weekend moving her few belongings into his home, the nursery furniture sheâd collected finding a new home in the guest room and Jo herself finding solace in her permanent position on the other side of Alexâs bed.
Lost in his thoughts, Alex barely notices that heâs arrived at the hospital. While the childrenâs hospital was large, the main hospital at UCSF was massive. The few times heâd come for a meeting or to pick up Jo Alex had almost always gotten lost. Thankfully he knew exactly where he was headed today and made it to the maternity ward without any issues, pausing outside of Joâs room for only a moment before walking in.
âIâm perfectly capable of checking my own damn cervix Wendy,â Alex watches as Jo swats away the older doctor's hand, her face scrunching up in irritation. âI donât need everyone I work with getting an up close look at my lady bits today.â
âWell you look like youâre in good spirits,â Alex steps fully into the room, pressing a kiss to Joâs forehead as she continues to stare down the doctor in front of her. âLet her check, Iâm pretty sure you canât even reach down there anyways.â
Jo begrudgingly lays back down, letting Wendy check her as Alex brushes back her hair. As soon as the examination is done though, sheâs sitting up and removing her legs from the stirrups they were in.
âYou know I donât even know why Iâm here, Iâve delivered hundreds of babies before,â Jo is throwing off the blankets on her lap and swinging her legs over the side and pulling at the few monitors she was already hooked up to. âWeâre going home, Iâm not giving birth here. Iâm more than capable of delivering my own baby.â
âJo, youâre not going anywhere,â the doctor looks from Jo to Alex, fixing him with a serious stare. âYouâre fully dilated, your baby is about ready to make their appearance. Iâm shocked youâre just getting settled in here.â
Alex moves quickly, placing his hands on Joâs shoulder and blocking her path as she attempts to stand and leave. She tries to vocally protest, but quickly doubles over with a groan as a contraction hits her, âWould you lay back down? Weâre not going anywhere, you heard your doctor.â
Jo shakes her head, still doubled over as she attempts to speak through her pain, âIâm⊠fine. Donât need⊠to be here. Shit that hurts!â
Moving his fingers down, Alex applies counter pressure to Joâs back as the contraction continues. The doctor gives him an understanding smile, gathering what she needs as she gives the two a small moment of privacy. When Joâs body finally relaxes against him, he moves his hands to gently rub her back as she evens her breathing out.
âYou wanna tell me why youâre all of sudden trying to break out of here,â when Jo doesnât respond to his question, Alex kneels in front of her, taking her now tear stained cheeks between his hands. âHey, whatâs wrong?â
âI canât do this, Iâm not supposed to be a mom. I am⊠terrified that Iâm going to mess everything up and Iâm even more scared that Iâm going to have to do all of this by myself,â Joâs breathing grows more ragged as she begins to sob, her shoulders dropping as she lets the emotion wash over her. âHow am I supposed to have someone rely on me for everything when I donât even have that? I was almost all alone here, Alex! You left me and the only reason youâre here is because we just so happened to run into each other again. And I didnât even mean to get pregnant! Iâm only here because I missed my birth control and we drank too much and had sex in the backseat of your car! I just canât do this⊠None of this was supposed to happen, I just canât- Oh god!â
Joâs panicked ranting is cut off by another contraction, her body involuntarily curling towards him as she lets out a pained groan. Alex attempts to calm her down as she grips his arms, her crying growing louder as she holds onto him.
âDeep breaths, let it out. Youâre okay,â Alexâs attempts to get Jo to breathe and calm herself down are futile as she begins to hyperventilate, fingers digging tightly into his biceps. âJo, youâre stressing yourself and the baby out. Iâm right here in front of you and Iâm not going anywhere. Iâm not leaving, okay? But no matter what, youâre going to be a mom here soon and I donât think thereâs anyone more prepared. Youâre going to be a great mom, thatâs something that nothing and no one can change. Our kid? They're the luckiest person on earth to have you as their mom so donât doubt yourself for a second.â
His words seem to get through to Jo as she relaxes against his shoulder, her cries softening as she reaches blindly for his hand. Alex squeezes back gently as he lets her come down from her panicked state, his arms holding her close to him.
âYou are going to be amazing, but we have to stay here and get this baby out. We can worry about the rest later okay,â Jo finally looks up at Alex, his fingers still caressing her cheeks as she attempts to stifle her cries. âJo you⊠You are so strong and so brave and I know even if I wasnât here that you would be able to get through this. But I am, Iâm here and Iâm never going to leave you or our baby, ever. And I can't promise that something else wonât happen, but Iâll live every day trying to prevent it. I love you so much and I know you love me and we have the rest of our lives to figure everything else out, okay?â
Jo leaned forward, her head resting against Alexâs shoulder as she forced out her next words, âI really really need to push. Like right now.â
Alex acts quickly, alerting the doctor whoâd stepped into the hall before coming back to Joâs side. Her fingers interlock with his and she only pushes for fifteen minutes before she collapses against him with a sigh of relief. Not a moment later thereâs a small cry that echoes through the room and both Alex and Jo watch in fascination as the squirming baby settles quickly onto Joâs chest.
The next hour passes in a blur, everything around him moving a thousand miles a minute, but when he finally has a moment to breathe all Alex can do is stare at Jo. Her eyes are focused on the now swaddled and sleeping baby in her arms, fingers brushing over the chubby cheeks and dark curls of hair on the infant.
âI love you too,â Joâs words are barely above a whisper as she continues to stare at the baby in her arms. âI didnât say it earlier, mainly because I was in pain but also because some days it seems easier to try and convince myself that I donât anymore. But I do love you Alex, even if this little one wasnât a part of our lives thereâs this part of me that loves you so much no matter what weâve been through.â
Too stunned to move, Alex finds himself staring blankly at Jo as she moves her gaze from the baby up to him. Her eyes are wide and shining with tears, but she doesnât look upset. Instead she reaches a hand out towards him and gestures for him to join her on the hospital bed. He doesnât hesitate, his arm wrapping around Joâs shoulder as she snuggles into his side. The baby on her chest readjusts, one hand reaching upwards which Alex grabs between his own fingers.
âHe looks just like you,â Jo chuckles as she leans her head against his chest. âIâm screwed aren't I?â
âMmm I think if you can survive one Karev boy two will be a walk in the park.â

Please Read This
lol so I followed a blog and was immediately blocked (tumblr only obscured the very top of the screen because coding, I didnât realize I was blocked until later) and was vague posted about.
My muse, who is an OC, was called a misogynistic, homophobic racist. Also Iâm a terrible person because Iâm okay writing with nazi muses* (spoiler: Iâm not okay with that) and that Iâm a freak (yes that was in the post).Â
Iâm putting the rest under read more because this is a long one. I do politely ask that you read it anyway, especially if you follow me. It would mean the world to me if you did.Â
Iâll be okay, just wanted to set a few things straight and wash my hands of it.Â
TLDR;  My first week back on tumblr and Jack was called a racist, sexist, homophobe and that Iâm a terrible person. suprised_pikachu_face.jpeg If I or jack do something to offend then please just talk to me instead of...whatever this was lol.Â
-I have a screenshot of the vague post, I will not be sharing with the public out of respect for privacy.Â
-Iâm a mixed, mentally ill woman whoâs in the LGBTQ+ community. Thatâs not a âgotchaâ or anything, people from marginalized groups can be terrible and arenât immune to criticism if their behavior is hurting other people. I just wanted to throw that out there because with the way this person worded their post, intentionally or not, it appears they assumed Iâm not in any marginalized group myself. Like, by default I must be straight and white and thatâs simply not true.
- If my behavior or my museâs is problematic, I genuinely do apologize and would like to know how it was wrong so I can check myself and fix it going forward.Â
-I want everyone to know that if something from my dash is not sitting right with you, you can always come to me and let me know. Even if weâve never talked before. Iâll never be upset with you for wanting to have a discussion with me, even if itâs a hard one. Especially if itâs a hard one. Iâll appreciate it because as someone with debilitating anxiety, Â I know that takes a lot of bravery and initiative on your end, that itself deserves a huge kudos.
-My characters are all reflections of me in some way or another, I think thatâs the case for MOST muns here. I do not take criticisms against Jack as criticism towards myself, but I do draw the line at him being called those names because Iâve never purposefully written him that way nor plan to. Even if I were, Iâd be very vocal that I donât agree with it and that the behavior should be shamed.Â
-Even when I write with âproblematicâ characters, I try to tag as much as I can and am always happy to tag more when asked* (Iâve never written with a nazi  though wtaf.)  I tend to separate mun from muses, but I HAVE in the past backed away from problematic muses even if the mun seemed cool if it crossed the line. And that line is different for everyone.Â
-My muse and me being called every âistâ and âphobeâ under the sun and how I hurt marginalized people (yes, that was also in the post) isnât something I want to be accused of because Iâve always second guessed myself and tried my best to be as non triggering and approachable on this blog as possible.Â
-To be honest, Iâm hurt to be lumped in with the same group of people who have made mine, my friends, and my familyâs life (Chinese in America during the pandemic. 0/10 donât recommend)  a living fucking hell over internet roleplay. I know this is Tumblr and I only have myself to blame for acting new, but thatâs honestly insulting.
-I realize Iâm not owed an explanation, this person was well within their right to block me and I hold no grudge after this. How they felt is valid, but I donât agree with the way they handled it. I only wanted to talk about this and move on.
Okay, this is long enough haha. Like I said in the beginning, it would mean the absolute world to me if you read this. If you did, could you let me know or simply leave a like? You donât have to, but Iâd appreciate it.Â
Thank you for coming to my TED talk

"I'll Crawl Home to Her" for the fic title thing? (gotta love Hozier)
Iâll Crawl Home to Her
Kara has a pretty rough, gruesome fight that day. She took one particularly hard blow that knocked her down and the people around watched her stay down. Cameras remained fixed on the still body of Supergirl surrounded by rubble. She wouldnât admit it to anyone, especially not Alex, but she could feel how close she was to deathâs edge. She couldnât get up. Kara was never one to give up but sheâd be lying to herself if she denied a small part of her didnât want to get up. That getting beaten down physically was pretty fitting to how she felt after getting beaten down emotionally over and over in the past 6 months. After everything sheâs endured with Krypton and Lena and Crisis and Lena and Lex and Lena and Lena, Lena, Lena, sheâs never felt more drained and exhausted.
But Kara didnât get up. Alex screamed in her earpiece to get up and she didnât. Nia yelled for Kara to get up while trying to hold her attacker off and she didnât. Brainy told her if she didnât get up, the villain would have a 99.98% chance of destroying National City and she didnât. The bystanders pleaded for her to get up and she didnât. The little girl cried for Supergirl to get up and she didnât. There was silence and she didnât get up. She didnât get up. She didnât get up. And then. She did.
And with every ounce of her strength she had left, Kara unleashed her powers and they defeated the villain to cheers from all across National City as her win was broadcasted live. But Kara didnât hear any of the cheers or congratulations; she only heard her sigh of relief before passing out.
Kara wakes up in the Tower under sun lamps. Her wounds are fresh and sheâs sore. Sheâs blown out her powers before but sheâs never felt this weak. She tries lifting her body out of bed when she feels Alex push her back down. âYouâre not going anywhere. You need rest, Kara.â Alex deadpans. Kara mumbles something Alex canât make out as she struggles to fight against her sister. âWhy are you always so stubborn?â Alex asks âDonât make me strap you to this gurneyâ she teases. Kara manages to grunt out âfineâ and âpotstickers pleaseâ and Alex shakes her head in disbelief of her sisterâs unwaivering appetite. âNia youâre in charge while I get this loser foodâ Alex shouts as she leaves.
Nia is preoccupied with something on the monitor when Kara attempts to roll out of bed and ends up falling out onto the floor with a loud thud. Kara stops from the pain but also bc sheâs sure Nia heard that but to her surprise Niaâs headphones are blaring rock music as she continues to type. Kara slowly but surely manages to crawl to the elevator and sneak out of the building. Nia looks back to check on Kara later and noticed sheâs gone. âShit. Alex is going fucking to kill me.â She curses to herself.
Lena walks out of the elevator onto her floor and as she gets her keys out to open her apartment, she notices a hooded figure slouched by her door. As she cautiously approaches, she notices bloodied bruises and blonde hair. âKara?â She gasps as she kneels down quickly. Kara opens her eyes and whispers a small hi.
Lena half carries Kara into her apartment and places her on the couch.
âWhat are you doing here, Kara?â Lena says softly.
âI was in a fight.â
âI knowâ
âI almost died.â
âI know.â
âBut I didnât.â
âI know.â
âBut you donât know why.â
âBecause National City needed Supergirlâ
âNo. Because you needed Kara.â
âWhat?â Lena poorly feigns mild confusion.
âI heard you, Lena.â Kara says as she looks Lena dead in the eye.
Lena stays quiet at that.
âI couldnât get up. Everyone was yelling, telling me to get up. It was so loud and I was so tired. I couldnât get up. Everything went quiet and I thought it was the end. But. But then I heard you. I heard you say my name. I heard you say âKara.â I heard you tell me âKara, get up!â
Lena flashes back to a few hours ago when she was in her office standing in front of her flatscreen watching Kara lie motionless in the street. Tears welled in her eyes as her name crossed her lips, âKara. Kara, get up. Get up, Kara.â Her pleas turned to anger âNo! No, you donât get to die like this. You donât get to die thinking I hate you. You donât get to die without me telling you! Kara! Get up!â Lena crumpled to the ground sobbing âKara, please. Please, get up. Please.â Lena sat there crying at the floor. She couldnât bare to watch the screen any longer. Then she heard the cheers from her tv. Lena chanced a glance up and she saw Kara standing triumphant swaying meekly on the rubble. Lena let out a sigh that rippled through her entire body. She knew she would be okay.
Lena was pulled back to the present when she felt Karaâs hand on top of hers.
âI couldnât die without telling you either. I love you, Lena. Iâm sorry that I ever made you feel like I didnât. I love you and Iâm in love with you and I will always come home to you.â Kara let out. âIf you want me to.â She added.
Lena stared in shock at the woman in front of her for a beat before gently cupping her face and kissing her best friend.
Kara kissed her back as long as she could before whimpering âow.â Lena apologized profusely. âIt was worth it.â Kara said as she smiled.
Lena took care of Kara the rest of the night and texted Alex and Nia to let them know she was safe. Alex wanted to come get her but Lena insisted she had it handled. Alex acquiesced but told Lena to tell Kara she was gonna kill her once she recovered. She did and Kara groaned. âAlex is so dramaticâ Kara whined. âHer? Youâre the one who snuck out to come tell me something that easily could have waited until the morning, considering your state.â Lena teased. âIt most certainly could not have waited! And I for one am offended you think my undying love for you was not worth the arduous journey here.â Kara retorted. âHow did you get here by the way?â Lena asked. âI walked.â Kara paused. âWell it may have resembled more of a crawl at times.â They both laughed before Lena replied. âWell next time you wonât have to crawl, because Iâll already be beside you.â

tbh, I'm not all that interested in the new Superman show, but (because Iâm ancient) it did get me going down a Smallville nostalgia rabbit hole. And guys. I think we all owe Lana Lang an apology.
And by âweâ, I mean all you clowns because I always loved Lana. This video explains it pretty well, but basically, she had one of the most compelling character arcs on the show and everyone was just too misogynistic (and probably a little racist) to realize it.Â
Lanaâs early storyline was one that was so quintessentially teen girl. People seem to take her at face value, the face being a single image of a tragic, helpless, sweet little girl in a fairy princess costume. And as she grew up and grew out of that costume, she grew into this mask of feminine perfection- pretty, popular, studious, kind, well-mannered, and even though it worked for her well enough, it still couldnât cure that deep sense of loneliness she felt.
Also, another unpopular opinionâI really liked Lexana. Was it a healthy relationship? Fuck no! But it was interesting and pushed both of them in ways that were complicated and inevitable. And I also think Lex was able to see Lana in a much more complex and complete way than Clark saw her.

Destiny & The Titans
Since the theme of season 3 is DESTINY, I started thinking of how it could be involved in each characterâs arc. Basically my predictions with a little bit of what I hope to see. Itâs long, I got carried away đ
KORY
Koryâs whole story revolves around destiny. Her whole life sheâs known what her destiny is and has working towards it. But after she comes to earth and is able to experience freedom for the first time, sheâs torn between doing what she has to do and doing what she wants to do. But Kory has run out of time to make a choice; and all the consequences of her actions have now caught up to her all at once and itâs becoming hard for her to handle. Iâm really interested to see how her demeanor will change in s3. Koryâs known to be the positive light of the group, but with everything going on with Blackfire sheâs definitely shown signs of manic behavior, like the therapist said. So itâll be interesting to see how she acts around the team. Will she have random outbursts at the team, or distance herself from them? Either way I can see them all being worried about her, especially Dick, which will force her to tell them everything. Anyway, Iâm super excited for her arc, and to see the dynamic between Kory and Kom explored.
DICK
Dick is finally Nightwing. He has finally overcome his violent ways, and has forgiven himself for what his past mistakes. His destiny is now being a leader to his new family and team. He needs to now trust in them and their abilities, and not take matters into his own hands; no more self-sacrificing. Â He also needs to loosen up and be more approachable. Â I hope we get to see a lot more team meetings and discussions about whatever theyâre dealing with; and Dick checking up on the younger Titans and giving them some comfort and advice.
***DICKKORY***
They just need to be together.
GAR
Gar has been through so much he needs a hug and some therapy, first of all. But his destiny is ultimately to become Beast Boy and to not be ashamed of that; itâs part of his DNA. As of now he can only turn into a tiger, but the tiger probably reminds him of all the bad he did while under CADMUSâ control. Iâm thinking he might be apprehensive to shift into it now, so that might push him to want to transform into different animals. But back in s1 he mentioned that he became a tiger because thatâs his favorite animal. So his arc for the season could be figuring out how his powers work, with the help of his teammates. This could hopefully give us a look into his past because we donât actually know much about Gar.
RACHEL
Even after defeating Trigon, Rachel is still struggling to control her powers. Theyâre changing, and sheâs having a hard time dealing with them. Her destiny is accepting that sheâs different and figuring out how to use her seemingly evil powers for good. Like Kory said to her, she has a choice even though her parents didnât set the best example for her; she doesnât have to choose that same path. With Rachel being on Themyscira, I hope she gets training from the Amazons that will help her to deal with her emotions. Successfully resurrecting Donna will probably give her a confidence boost too and sheâll be able to convince herself that sheâs nothing like her father.
DONNA
Donnaâs destiny is obviously her transition to Troia. In her s2 flashback, she kind of had the same dilemma that Kory now has with having to choose between two different lives; one with the Titans and Garth or one on Themyscira. She ended up making her decision too late and she lost Garth because of it. Hopefully she comes back as herself, and not evil because of Rachelâs powers. When she does come back to life, I think sheâll be determined to live life how she wants to and not being stuck in the past; this involves leaving Wonder Girl behind. Iâm also gonna need her and Dick to have a good talk because she owes him an apology.
CONNOR
Connor has been struggling with deciding on whether heâs more like Lex or like Clark. But I think his destiny is creating his own path and just being Connor. This will involve him picking which traits of both his dads he likes and wants to keep and which traits he has to work on keeping subdued.
HANK Â & DAWN
Their destinies should be not being Titans anymore.
But anywayâŠ
Hank was doing well at the beginning of s2. He was focusing on helping others without being a vigilante, and it was essentially helping him too; he was calmer and happier. But he got forced back in. I think he and Dawn should stay broken up. I liked the fact that he was able to realize that his relationship with Dawn was founded on loss and pain; theyâre toxic together. Since Greg hinted at one of them getting a career change, I think itâll be Hank that strays away from the team.
Dawn needs to be alone for a while. She needs to figure out who she is as person outside of a relationship. She hasnât been single since her mother died so she probably hasnât fully been able to deal with it. She enjoys being a vigilante because she can cause other people pain to distract from her own. Now being single, this is a good chance for her to become the pacifist/peacemaker she is in the comics.
ROSE & JASON
Not sure about them tbh.
I hope that the rumors of Rose being written off arenât true because Iâd like to see more of her character. Sheâs more interesting than others.
Jasonâs destiny is obviously Red Hood, but his revenge on the Titans doesnât seem valid. I understand some of the Titans were wrongfully mean to him; but that was only 4 people and one of them is dead and the other went away with her. This could all be fixed with an apology. But Iâll wait and see how that turns out.

There was a prompt knock at the door of Félix's guest room in the manor. Kali disappeared almost instantly to hide from the person about to enter the room. "Come in!" He called for the person at his door. Nathalie entered the room and looked around, seemingly searching for⊠something.
She's looking for me. Kali whispered into his ear.
"Your uncle desires to see you in his study soon." She deadpanned. FĂ©lix liked Nathalie, she was a decent person - although he still believed she was an idiot for putting up with Public Enemy Number 1, Gabriel Agreste.
As much as he despised his presence, there was something about the whole, "I tricked you into shaking my hand so I could steal these really cool rings that ended up being magical jewellery!" thing that was supposed to be just a fun little way to mess with him - it wasn't supposed to cause any more harm to their already unstable relationship.
That is, until now.
"Greetings, FĂ©lix." Said the designer, putting his arms behind his back. Because, being related is no exception to being professional at all times.
"Hello Uncle, you wanted to see me?"Â
"There's something I've been meaning to discuss with you for quite some time now. I assume you must already know what that is, correct?"
Ohshitohshitohshit! Quick, play dumb!
"I'm afraid not Uncle, I would be delighted if you were to enlighten me." He lied, internally screaming.
"Hmm. Well then, I'm sure you recall your visit a while back. Your mother has so kindly asked me to hand over the rings that seemed to belong to her family. Does that ring a bell?" He smirked.Â
That absolute bastard. Nobody talked about FĂ©lix's Mother in a passive aggressive manner!
Except for you, Kali reminded him.Â
"Yes Uncle, I do seem to remember that."Â He commented, rolling his eyes.
"A couple hours after you left, I couldn't find the ring anywhere in the mansion. I'm not accusing you of thievery, really - I just want to clear matters up."
"But Uncle, I seem to recall you having a ring on when Mother and I came to stay because of her production." He had, of course, stolen that ring too. He was petty like that, and they were his after all.
"True indeed. Coincidentally I lost that one too afterwards, which brings me to this point - may I check your hand to make sure of something?"
Ha, jokes on him, they weren't on his hand, he was smarter than that, they were hidden in a custom made pocket in his jacket, and that would be incredibly invasive for him to pull Felix's jacket off and search it without consent wouldn't it?Â
As expected, Gabriel didn't find anything. Then again, he's the same person who's been keeping tabs on two literal minors and still didn't succeed at stealing jewellery from them. Whatever FĂ©lix did was probably karma for all that. Either way, the topic at hand was another set of rings. And had he thrown a temper tantrum, it would've made him look especially bad in front of his mother. Oh, and his own kid too but, whatever, right?Â
"This is a one time offer, FĂ©lix. Hand over the rings, or I may take them myself. I have my very own ways to do so." He scoffed. "My patience has a limit."
And suddenly, FĂ©lix felt fear.
Fear that didn't come from him, it that came fromâŠ
Kali?
no, No, No⊠No, NO, NO!! Not AGAIN. I DON'T WANNA LEAVE! HE CAN'T MAKE ME LEAVE!
Kali, calm down!
Her emotions were like a flood, there was fear, then sadness, then anger and fear again. She had to calm herself down before they had a panic attack. How to get out of this situation He couldn't think straight, his breathing was sharp and shallow, mimicking his Kwami's.
Oh God.. this wasn't gonna end well was it?Â
This was itâŠ
"Gabriel? I've been looking all over for you!" His Mother flounced into the room, thank god. He decided then and there that he would never make another sarcastic comment about her again.
"What is it this time?" He asked, slightly irritated.
"Gabriel, you know you always have a 2 o'clock meeting! Nathalie wanted to remind you, but the poor woman's having another dizzy spell and so I insisted I would come and get you instead!" She beamed passive aggressively, an art of which Amelie Graham de Vanily was well versed in.Â
It was moments like this that made Gabriel want to punch his in-laws - and it was moments like this that reminded FĂ©lix how much he absolutely loved his mother. She was always there, just on time.Â
Thank goodness for that.Â
His Uncle looked down. Then he glared at his nephew, and he sighed. "Thanks for the reminder, I'll be going soon." Is what he said, but what he really meant was, "This isn't over yet!" And FĂ©lix knew.
He stumbled out of the study, breathing wildly, attempting to block out his Kwamis pained screams. He slammed the door to the guest room closed and slumped into a chair.
Kali it's okay!Â
NO IT'S NOT! HE WANTS TO HURT US!
MAKE HIM STOP! MAKE HIM STOP!Â
Kali we're perfectly safe right now. He tried to reason.
We aren't safe as long as we're in this house! We need to leave! He wants to separate us!Â
That can't happen! It can't! It can't!
The thought of forcefully having his Kwami taken from him made FĂ©lix want to scream! But he had to remain calm.
Kali, that won't happen, I understand your fear, but you need to take a breath. He went first, showing the breathing exercise he had learnt over time, 5 in, hold for 7, out 8. As her breathing evened out, the Kwami began to lose her invisibility, her form flickered as she slowly calmed herself down.
Do you promise?
Huh?
Promise me that nobody will make me leave you, please?
Her voice and demeanor were unlike the Kali that had developed, it reminded him of when she had first come out of those rings.Â
Scared and afraid. And now he knew why.
I promise Kali, nobody will ever keep us apart.
And he truly meant that. Nobody, not even a superhero, could keep them apart for long.
Just a bit after that confrontation, someone came back from his most recent photoshoot. He found his cousin laying on his bed, likely lost in his thoughts.Â
He knew FĂ©lix was going through a hard time, and he also knew that they've been very close for most of their lives. Adrien would've done anything to help his cousin - and this instance was no exception.
"Hey! How come you're in my room?" He chuckled.
"Ah, erm, it appears I took a wrong turn, sorry about thatâŠ"
"How come? You never get lost usuallyâŠ"
"Well, let's just say that your Father doesn't exactly do good things for my anxiety." He sighed.
"...Oh." And there it comes, stupid Adrien, wrapped around his father's finger, always choosing his parent over him! "Listen⊠I'm sorry."
What?
"I'm sorry! I think I owe you an apology," he frowned. "for, you know, constantly excusing my father. I'm sorry he's putting you through some stressful stuff, and I'm⊠not doing anything about it." He turned to look at him. "I hope you can understand that, really. I wish I could do something about it other than offer a shoulder to cry on, but I'm scared of disrespecting his wishes. I apologize." The boy muttered.
"...I guess I was wrong. You didn't do it to hurt me. I thought that was why-" Félix was dumbfounded. Adrien? Admitting his Father was a jerk?? Was this some kind of fever dream???
"...That was why I didn't go to your Dad's funeral?" He guessed. FĂ©lix quietly nodded. "No, I'd never want to do that, not after you were there for me when I lost Mom. I'm so sorry, FĂ©lix, I should have been there." Tears shone in the latter's green eyes.
"You shouldn't have to apologize, I'm sorry for the way I treated you! You were manipulated, I was just a jerk." He protested, how could he have thought such awful things about such a caring person?
Because you were grieving Lex, you still are.
Don't call me Lex - it was a weak response.
"We were both in pain. And look at you now, you're a good person, I know you are, I can feel it! So maybe since we both apologized for being jerks we just, I dunno, eat ice cream instead?" He smiled awkwardly, for a model he always was such a dork.
FĂ©lix raised an eyebrow, "Aren't you lactose intolerant?" he let out a smug grin.
"Oh hush! I can handle a tub of ice cream!" He was going to get so sick tomorrow... Eh, what the hell!
Hey, are you sure you donât wanna tell him that you know he's Chat Noir?
Kali! You're ruining the moment!

Magnanimous Moonrise Chapter 14M
Lex gave a thumbs up back. Valen let out a choked sob. What was he supposed to say? He also gave a thumbs up.
"It's all right," said Lex. "Things are going to get better for you now. We're going to help you. Things are only going to get better."
This felt wrong, incongruous with his actions. He'd kidnapped and attacked Lex, and he was being rewarded for it. It scared him. He wasn't sure whether to trust it.
Especially Ari. God, he wanted so badly for her to not be angry at him. She was so scary, and he wanted her to like him so, so badly.
âAri,â said Lex, taking Valenâs wrist and drawing him forward. âLet me introduce you to Valen. He was here in human territory becauseâŠhe was gatheringâŠmushrooms?â She glanced at him out of the corner of her eye, then continued, âThat he was using to try and make artificial blood.â
âMushrooms are more closely related to animals than to plants,â Valen mumbled, nerves completely shot.
âAh, rightâŠâ said Ari. She rubbed the back of her head. âWell, IâŠWell, if thatâs true⊠I meanâŠIâm glad you werenât here for anything nefarious.â Valen could tell she still did not quite believe him, but she seemed less suspicious at least. They were standing here, having a conversation, and he didnât have the muzzle on, and he wasnât doing anything to hurt either of them, and she could see he could behave. This was good, this was progress.
âI-Iâm sorry I locked you in a cage,â Valen blurted out.
âHgn?â Ari gave him a befuddled look.
Valenâs knees locked up. Had his apology been insufficient? Had Ari somehow forgotten, and heâd reminded her of something to be mad at him for?
âI meanâŠâ said Ari, averting her eyes. âThat was just kind of fair play. Yâknow.â She cleared her throat. âWell, IâGiven what all happened, I would sayâŠWell, listen, dude, IâŠÂ Sorry aboutâŠall that.â She looked ashamed. âI owe you one, soâso if thereâs anything you need, you just let me know.â
Was this real? Were they really going to help him? Dare he let himself believe it?
âLetâs get you taken care of,â said Lex. âWhat would you like to do first? We can get you cleaned upââ
âF-feed,â he said instantly. âPl-please allow me to feed. Iâm soâso, Iâm so hungry, please.â
They both look surprised. Dread lanced through him. Maybe thatâd been too presumptuous to ask for, even though earlier theyâd clearly said feeding him was on the table. He realized with horror that if he was going to feed, it would be from Ari, since Lex was obviously out of the questionâŠSo essentially, heâd just demanded that Ari let him feed from her. That was the last thing he wanted to say to someone who was always grumpy and skeptical of his intentions, and he was so scared of her and he wanted her to like him so badly, he wanted to be the kind of person she would carry and protect in her strong-looking arms, he wanted her to call him a good boy againâ
âEager, huh,â said Ari, turning back to the fridge.
Oh god, thatâd definitely been too much to ask. Heâd just gotten back his ability to communicate, and the first thing heâd done was make an outlandish demand. Why had he thought that would be okay to ask? He really did need to feed every day for his health, but he didnât need it to live, so eating was probably a luxury for him from their point of view. They hadnât said how often they would feed him, maybe theyâd meant they would feed him after heâd earned it, or not every day, or down the road, orâÂ
Ari was bent over into the fridge, behind the door. Valen twisted his hands in the hem of his shirt. There was no reason why they couldnât start feeding him today, right? That wasnât unreasonable to hope for, right? There was no reason why they would be mad at him for asking that, right? Theyâd said they would.
Theyâd said they would; it didnât mean they were going to.
Theyâd said they would, so why would he ask for it? Why would he push them when he was clearly already on the precipice of falling back into being viewed as a dangerous predator? Would they take this to mean he couldnât think of anything besides blood? Would they put the muzzle back on? Would they give up on him and take him back to Nick? This was their blood, their bodies, why had he dared to ask for it? Why couldnât he have just waited until they offered? Were they going to put the muzzle back on? Would they think he was dangerous? Would they think he was an animal who could only think of blood? Would they put the muzzle back on?
He wasnât helpless anymore, though, he could use persuasion if he needed to, although he really, really didnât want to, with how badly itâd gone last time.
âHello?â said Ari, waving her hand in his face. âEarth to Dracula.â
He snapped back into his body. Ari was standing in front of him with a sealed medical bag of some kindâ
Blood, a pint of blood.
âLike I was trying to say,â said Ari with a grin. âTodayâs your lucky day, my man, cuz it turns out if youâre at a hospital to get stitches, all you need to do is flirt with the nurse a little bit, and tell her youâre vampire hunters, and fudge the explanation for what youâre going to use it for a little bit, and theyâll just give you some blood.â
âG-give it to me!â Valen snapped, and then drew back again, hand over his mouth, convinced that at any moment the desperateness leaking into his actions would convince them to give up on this whole venture of seeing him as a person and giving him a chance.
âHold on a second,â said Ari, drawing it back. Here it comes. Theyâre going to make me earn it, theyâre going to make me humiliate myself somehow like Nick did, make me debase myself for it. He couldnât peel his eyes away from the turgid sack, saliva pooling in his mouth. He would do whatever they asked, he knew he would, he was desperate. He was desperate.
He once again wrestled with the urge to just use persuasion to take it. But he couldn't. He was trapped in their house, during the day, that would only make everything worse for him, to prove he couldn't be trusted. But...he wanted it so badly.
Lexâs hand was on his back, rubbing it comfortingly. âDidnât you throw upâŠbefore?â
When you almost killed me? Valenâs eyes rolled from Ari to Lex in terror. I did, yes, I fed from you and almost killed you and then just vomited it all back up, wasting your blood, Iâm sorry, Iâm sorry.
âSo how much of this do you think your stomach can handle?â said Ari. âDecide beforehand, so you donât get carried away.â
âFor a human who was breaking a fast, we would probably give them crackers or something,â said Lex. âSomething light, so they donât get sick. You know?â
âDo you want just a little bit, and we can wait a bit to give you more?â said Ari. âOr, maybe, I donât know, we can thin it out with water or something?â
That made sense. Valen tried to steady his pounding heart. This was so stressful. He felt like if he made the slightest mistake, or showed too much interest, or not enough, this would all evaporate and be replaced by more chains. But that made sense, they were being sensibleâŠÂ His clawing, aching stomach demanded that he answer to drink the whole thing at once. Maybe there would be no later, maybe there would be no returning to this precious, unexpected mana from the heavensâŠÂ Â
But the acrid sensation of vomiting up precious blood had been so vile that he had no desire to repeat it. âIfâŠif you dilute it with water,â said Valen, choosing his words carefully, painstakingly, like he was in a minefield, âM-maybe half of that would be a good start. Thank you.â
Ari smiled. âThere we go. Letâs give it a try.â
She turned and put the bag on the sink. Lex fetched her a drinking glass, then came back over to help Valen stand.
Ari lowered the bag into the sink to contain any spills, then cut it open with a pair of scissors.
The second the bag was open, the scent of all that blood, right there, jammed itself into Valenâs nose and up into his brain, rocketing straight into whatever dark, primal part of him was responsible for keeping him fed. It bypassed his higher brain functions, his logical thoughts, a thrumming, violent, demanding urge gripping him in an icy claw and moving his limbs on impulse.
Heâd slammed into Ari in an instant, clawing past her to get the bag, knocking it over, growling over the sound of the two women shouting distantly. Red was all he could see, blood, blood, blood, he needed it now, he needed it, he needed it more than anything, he couldnât let them stand in the way, he needed it now.
His weakened body had delivered a few blows which would have once broken human bones, but Lex and Ari recovered from the surprise attack quickly. He felt his limbs wrenched back, slamming him into the counter, arm twisted behind his back, their legs pinning his own.
Horror flooded him as he realized what had just happened, and phased back in to hear Lexâs and Ariâs voices.
âEasy, easy!â
âWoah, woahââ
âStop, stopââ
âIâve got him.â
âWeâve got you.â
âIâm sorry!â he sobbed instantly. âIâm sorry! Iâm sorry! IâI didnât mean toâI didnât mean to!â
He tried to stand back up, but a hand came into his hair, pressing him back down. He was stuck in place looking at the sink, watching what remained of the blood in the bag leaking out and down the drain. Tears filled his eyes. Theyâd really been going to feed him, and he hadnât been able to control himself for five seconds, and heâd attacked them and spilled the blood, wasted the opportunity. There probably wasn't any way to come back from this, even if they'd been shockingly patient with him till now.
He almost used persuasion. He had something to lose now, though. If he proved he couldnât be trusted with his mouth, the gag would be coming back, or the bit, and with it the crushing helplessness.Â
He thought about using persuasion anyway. He really did. He stood no chance at getting away now, with the sun rising outside, a full day of terrible sunlight ahead of him, but he was just so scared. And hungry.
He tried to writhe forward and lick just a little of the blood from the sink while he still had the chance, before he went back to Hell. It was right there, so tantalizing. Oh, it smelled like it was AB positive too, his favorite kind. The hand in his hair tugged him back, flattening him against the counter.
âPlease,â he wept. âPlease just let me lick the sink, Iâll do anything, Iâm sorry, Iâm so sorry, pleaseâplease have mercy, please just let meââ
âEasy,â said Ariâs voice, and the legs behind him pressed into him even further, stifling his squirming. âEasy. Take it easy. Breathe. Sit still.â
He tried. But the blood was right there, and they were certainly not going to feed him now.
âLex, turn the water on.â
âNo,â Valen cried. âPlease, please, please just let meââ
Lexâs manicured hand appeared to turn on the faucet, rinsing the bag and sending the remaining blood down the drain. He tried to scramble towards it again before it disappeared, but the hand keeping his arm twisted behind his back pressed down, and a second hand came and pinned his other wrist to the counter.
He almost used persuasion, again. He wanted to. But he couldnât. That would make everything so much worse for him. He wrestled with himself bitterly. The tears spilled over as the scent of blood faded.
âThis isnât going to work if you canât control yourself,â growled Ari. âWeâre trusting you to behave in a civilized way.â
âIâm sorry. IâIâIâI didnât mean to, I-I-I couldnât control myself.â
âAll right,â said Ari, voice just as firm as her hands. âJust stay still.â
He went limp, heaving, hopeless. Things had been looking like they could get better. But he was truly some kind of wild animal now.
âLex, are you hurt?â
âNo, are you?â
âNo.â
He felt Lexâs warm hand on his back again. âItâs okay,â she said. âSee? You didnât hurt us. Weâre okay. Youâre okay.â
Iâm okay. Itâs gonna be okay. He wanted to believe it so, so badly. âIâmâIâmâIâm sorry.â
âItâs all right,â said Lex. âDonât worry. Weâre going to help you.â
He let out a series of half-relieved, half-anxious sobs. They still wanted to help him. Maybe he hadnât fucked it up beyond repair. Maybe he dared hope they could be patient with him. Maybe he dared hope they could see beyond what was directly in front of them and believe he had something more in his heart than the desperate, clawing violence heâd been driven to.
âWeâre going to help you,â said Ari. âBut weâre going to do it in a way that doesnât put me and Lex at risk. Understand?â
âYes, I understand, I understand, sirâm-maâam.â
âBecause Lex lost a lot of blood, and if she loses more, or reopens her stitches, you could hurt her really badly.â
âIâI know, Iâm sorry, I d-didnât mean toââ
âWe know youâre hungry,â said Lex, âand we know youâre scared, and in pain, and we know people do things they wouldnât otherwise do when theyâre scared and in pain and hungry.â
Valen sobbed, eyes on the counter in front of him.
âBut that doesnât change the fact that you can hurt us even if you donât mean to,â said Ari. âThis might have been too big of a leap. Weâll do baby steps.â
âTh-thank you,â said Valen, body wracked with tremors. âThank you, maâam, thank you.â
âLex, go get the muzzle.â
âNo!â Valen cried, stomach flipping, once again fighting the urge to just use persuasion and high-tail it out of there, rising sun be damned. His body instantly ratcheted back up to the maximum levels of panic. âPlease, please, no! Please donât put the muzzle back on! Please, please, Iâll do anything, anything, Iâm begging youââ
âRelax,â said Ari, emphatically, a command. âHey, relax.
Lex pattered away. Valen tried to stop his enormous, shaking sobs. âIâmâIâm sorry, I really am. I wonâtâyou donât have to feed me, I donât need blood, you donât need to put the muzzle back on. I wonât eat if it means I have to put the muzzle back on.â
âSorry,â said Ari. âThatâs not gonna fly. As long as youâre one sniff of blood away from going berserkââ
The muzzle was too much. He couldnât. He couldnât. Valen decided to cut his losses and use persuasion while he could. âYou willââ
Ariâs hand clapped over his mouth instantly, the same one heâd bitten before when sheâd done so, bandages and all. Her voice was low and menacing. âI know you werenât about to use persuasion, because if you were going to use persuasion, that would mean I would have to put the bit back in, to stop you from talking, and weâre not going to do that, so you werenât about to use persuasion, right?â
He let out a soft whine.
âNow Iâm going to take my hand off, and weâre going to go back to the way we were just talking before, right?â
âMmm-hmm.â
Lexâs footsteps could be heard, and he saw her hand out of the corner of his eye, placing the muzzle on the countertop, a few feet in front of him. Tears of despair instantly brimmed over.
âGo get the chain from outside, too.â
Valen felt so ashamed of himself, so scared of what heâd turned into, that they felt the need to do this. Lex went out the back door and came back with the silver chain.
Valen heard the sound of duct tape ripping behind him. Lexâs hand came back and took the muzzle out of his sight. More duct tape sounds. Then it came back into sight, the metal wrapped tightly in tape, not a spot showing.
âAll right,â said Ari. âTry not to panic. Youâre okay. Youâre safe.â
Youâre safe. Youâre safe. Youâre safe.
Ari's hands eased up, returning him to a standing position. âThere we go,â she cooed. âNice and easy, now. Turn around, please.â
He did so, slowly. Ari and Lex were both leaning over close to him, concern on their flushed faces.
âAll right,â said Lex. âYouâre okay.â
âIâm going to attach the chain to this hook,â said Ari, gently running her finger along the metal collar still attached to his neck. âWeâre not going to bind your hands. Weâre just going to make it harder to bite and lunge, so you can stop yourself before you hurt us. Your hands will be free, and youâll still be able to talk. Then youâll get to eat.â
âPlease,â said Valen tearfully. âIâIâIââ He wanted to eat so badly, but he also desperately wanted to keep the muzzle off, and he couldnât decide which he wanted more, or if he had any chance of convincing them anyway.
âDo you think you can handle that?â said Ari. âItâs just as long as you canât keep yourself from lunging when you smell it. Okay? Weâre leaving your hands free, weâre trusting you to work with us here. We know you want to feed without hurting us. Think you can handle that?â
They were still going to feed him. It was almost too much to hope for, even at the cost of having to wear the muzzle. But feed him with what? Heâd wasted the blood theyâd already had. He assumed maybe Ari would cut her arm or something. That seemed like way too much to hope for, especially since it had been his own mistake. And while wearing the muzzleâŠwhat was their plan? He dare not ask.
âIf you canât, itâs OK to say so,â said Lex. âWeâll think of something else.â
âI can handle it,â he said, instantly worried the something else they might think of would be even worse. âI canâI can handle it, thank you, thank you for trusting me. I wonât bite you, I wonât use persuasion.â His chest hitched. âThank you for trusting me.â
Lex put her hand on his shoulder. âThank you for trusting us.â
All of them knew he didnât really have much choice, but it made him feel better nonetheless.
He tried not to flinch away as Ari clipped a carabiner onto the ring on the collar. Lex handed her the silver chainâthe front end of it had been wrapped in duct tape, to prevent it from burning him in the places where his shirt might not cover him.
âJust stay still,â said Ari as she clipped the carabiner through the chain. âThere we go. Good boy.â
Heat rushed to his face as Ari tugged the chain. âOkay, letâs go into the living room.â
Lex helped him walk as Ari led him out. âKneel down here, please.â
She was directing him in front of the radiator. That seemed okay. Not too scary. It would be warm, and they probably wanted to use its weight to connect the chain to. If he ever managed to get his strength back, he would be able to rip the radiator from the floor with one hand, but as it stood now, it would be an effective barrier to him lunging.
Ari connected the chain to the radiator with the combination lock from earlier. âThere,â said Ari. âDoes that feel okay?â
âY-yes,â said Valen, curling up on the floor. âTh-thank you.â He could at any time unclip the carabiner and free himself. He was free. He wasnât trapped. He was okay. Iâm okay. I can get free if I want to. But if he could sit still, they would feed him, and he wanted that so badly.
âOkay,â said Lex, putting a few more loops of tape onto the parts of the muzzle that would touch his skin. âAre you ready for this, now?â
âY-yesâŠNo! Yes. Yes, Iâm ready.â
âO-okay,â said Lex. âIâm going to put it on now.â
Valen tried to steady his trembling as Lex approached with the horrid device. The bit is gone. Thereâs nothing on it to stop you from talking. Your hands are free. You can just reach up and take it off. You can just take it off. Just let her put it on. It wonât hurt. Just let her put it on.
The tape-laden metal brushed his face, sliding into place as Lex came behind him and tightened the buckle.
He freaked out, pawing the muzzle off like a dog, whimpering and throwing it to the ground.
If he was going to act like a shark that went into a feeding frenzy whenever he smelled blood, it only made sense that they needed to protect themselves. They were doing their best given the situation. They were being remarkably patient and kind to him, more than he expected. He dared let himself believe they actually cared about his wellbeing, despite how thoroughly terrified he was of being restrained.
He took the device from her, and she stepped back. They both just watched him, giving him time.
He blinked back tears as he looked at the muzzle. Iâm in control, I can put it on, I can take it off, itâs okay. Itâs okay.
Trying to impress upon his screaming, alarmed brain that the muzzle comes on and off now, itâs not a permanent fixture, he was in control of it, he could take it on and off.
âO-okay,â he said, doing it up for the last time, and folding his hands in his lap. âI think Iâm ready now. I think Iâm ready. P-please.â
âAll right,â said Ari. âYou stay here. Me and Lex will bring it to you. Stay there, just like that. If you take the chain off, our priority goes from feeding you to restraining you. Got it?â
âYes,â said Valen. âThank you. Thank you.â
He watched them go into the kitchen, opening the fridge again. Relief washed through him as he saw three more bags of blood inside. Theyâd been smart enough to not get just one.
Ari repeated what sheâd done before, setting it in the sink and cutting it open with scissors.
Even though Valen was prepared for the impulse this time, he still instantly slammed the full length of the chain, choking himself, clawing the floorboards, shrieking and growling. The sight was apparently so ghastly that Lex and Ari looked over their shoulders in alarm. Valen did not have the presence of mind to free himself even if heâd thought it was a good idea.
Feed, feed, you need to feed. Blood, you need blood, you need to kill, you need blood. Bloodâs been spilled, and you need to feed.
Gradually, as he adjusted to the presence of the smell, red crept out of the edges of his vision, gasping and shaking as he came down from the monstrous urge. Heâd never felt anything like this before, the removal of all capacity for logical thought, the overwhelming animal instinct.
Theyâre bringing it over here. You donât need to do anything. His hands splintered the floorboards as he gripped it savagely. Just stay still.
Ari had a drinking glass in her hand, filled with light-red blood, presumably diluted, with a straw. âAll right,â she said, bringing it in. âGood job, youâre doing good. Back up a little bit.â
He shuffled backwards, the hope of being allowed to feed washing away all the lingering shame and embarrassment he had.
He whimpered. How many times could he mess up before they ran out of patience and stopped trying? âI-Iâm sorry.â
âItâs okay,â said Lex.
âWe still have the other hâNo.â This last part came as Valen knelt and tried to lick the blood off the floor, pressing the mesh muzzle into it.
Valenâs watery eyes remained on the circle of blood pooling on the floor. He knew they were trying to force him to have some dignity, trying to keep him from sliding further into his own dehumanization, but all he could think about was how much he wanted to eat, and how close heâd gotten without actually doing it yet.
He watched morosely as Lex threw towels down, absorbing the mess, while Ari went back to the kitchen and ran more water, making another glass.
She came back over, and both of them knelt in front of him. âCome here, big guy,â said Ari.
Valen tentatively lowered his head when Ari didnât remove her hands. Lex held the straw steady so he didnât have to struggle to get his lips on it, poking it through the muzzle, and he sucked.
Finally. Finally. Tears welled up in his eyes again. It felt good. It felt so good. Not like ripping Lex open, no, nothing could compare to giving into the animal desire to ravage someone like that, nothing would ever fill such a primal desire again. But this was better, in a way. This was a gentle feeding. There was no shame, no pain, no violence. He could be happy if the future was like this. The cool, rich liquid wet his parched mouth. He could feel the cool sensation going down his throat, slowly, a trickle. Ariâs hands keeping him steady rebuffed whatever desire he had to upend the glass and drink it all at once.
The refreshing sensation reached his stomach, the bare, cracked pit that had once been filled regularly. His body cried out with gratitude at its salvation.
âThere we go,â said Ari, as he continued to obediently sip. She removed one hand and stroked his hair. âGood boy.â
He shuddered and flushed.
âIâm not sure if he likes it when you do that,â said Lex.
Valen tried to hide his expression.
âSee, heâs embarrassed,â said Lex.
Ari huffed a laugh. âLex, thatâs exactly what you look like when I play with your hair and call you a good girl.â
It was Lexâs turn to blush. Under normal circumstances, Valen would have been anxious, because apparently this was a thing that these two shared, and there was so much to be worried about with the implications of that.
But he couldnât bring himself to care about anything except the heavenly, sweet, gentle flow of blood into his mouth. Maybe this was the start of good things.
